Jennifer Aniston Unlucky in Love

Just recently we heard how Jennifer Aniston is single once again after dumping her toyboy lover John Mayer who, it seems, would rather spend time on Twitter than with her.
We heard how he had been avoiding her – ignoring her calls and shunning her emails. And just when we thought Jen had finally found someone who could begin to match up to Brad Pitt. How wrong could we be?

As the woman who brought us the loveable Rachel Green in Friends, we couldn’t help but feel happy for her when she married Brad in 2000 – even if we were all green with envy. We watched their fairytale romance progress and then sadly crash and burn. Hollywood’s golden couple were no more.

When Brad and Angelina Jolie became official in 2005 after first meeting on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith, our hearts went out to Jen; even more so when Ange announced that she was pregnant with their first child Shiloh Nouvel. Seeing pictures of the happy family plastered on every magazine going must have hurt.

Jen seemed to turn a corner when she met Vince Vaughn while filming the ironically titled film The Break Up. Talking about him at the time she said: “He literally brought me back to life. My first gasp of air was a big laugh. It was great.” However, as bad luck again would have it, the pair split in 2006 after more than a year together. Jen said that the relationship had ran its course.
In 2008, she met musician Mayer, 31, at an Oscar party. We had high hopes for her, but after a whirlwind romance, it looks like Jen’s desperation to be a mum gave Mayer cold feet. At 40, Jen feels her biological clock is ticking at a rapid pace, with sources saying that she regrets not starting a family with Brad when she had the chance.

Experiencing such heart-ache has made Jen much more aware, if a little cynical, of relationships. Speaking to Vogue in 2008, she said: “Whoever said everything has to be forever, that's setting your hopes too high. It's too much pressure. And I think if you put that pressure on yourself—because I did! Fairy tale! It has to be the right one!—that's unattainable."
