Eight Things you may have missed:
♦ M.I.A., who performed while Ultra-Pregnant at the Grammys in February and gave birth to a healthy boy on February 14th, finally released the baby's name - Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman. I kyd U not.
♦ Our friends at the AV Club made a fantastic list of films that were designed to be franchised, but failed. On the plus side, I'm hoping that Mystery Men II still has an outside shot.
♦ Reese Witherspoon bought a pig and named it "Booker T. Washington" for her 9-year old daughter, Ava. They are no longer eating pork or bacon in the Witherspoon household either.
♦ It's absolutely fine to make a spontaneous, off-color remark about the mentally or physically challenged Special Olympics athletes, as long as you apologize within 24 hours and are in the correct political party. Kolan McConiughey, a Special Olympics competitor from Michigan, has bowled three perfect games of 300, and has challenged the new Commander-In-Chief. If dumb ol' GWB had an average of 129, like Prez O, what kind of comparisons would have been made by the media?
Just asking..
♦ Mensa announced the TOP 50 American Websites. PCM didn't make the list, and my inner nerd is kind of hurt.
♦ Real Selfish Housewife of Atlanta, Kim Zolciak, who has been 'dating' Girls Gone Wild producer Joe (®the sleaziest human on Earth) Francis didn't show for a charity event for battered women. Real House-HO of Orange County Gretchen Rossi's fiance passed away in September from leukemia, and now she's shacking up with former RHOOC ex-wife Jo's, ex Slade Smiley.
♦ Recent UCLA grad, James Franco has a new page devoted to him on Facebook. "UCLA Students Against James Franco as Commencement Speaker"
The group states "Clearly, this is ridiculous. Anyone who has been in his classes knows he is an average student."
♦ My heart truly goes out to Natashia Richardson's family. This week, Jessica Lange and Dame Judi Dench also fell down.
In typical over-reactive fashion, Hollywood is expected to announce a new ribbon for Gravity Awareness.
Sometimes, bad stuff just happens.
