Unlike the Tomkats “Desperate Housewives” star, Eva Longoria will get married soon and she’s not planning to be quiet about it. Eva Longoria said she wants a “huge and beautiful” ceremony she won’t keep silent about.
"We aren't going to be crazy hush-hush about this and be dramatic trying to protect it, because we are so excited," she said. "It's going to be huge and beautiful, and we just can't wait."
After their brief split in September this year, the couple formed by Eva and basketball player, Tony Parker, is actually stronger than ever. According to Eva’s publicist, Parker proposed and she accepted.
"Tony flew into Los Angeles last night after his game and surprised Eva at her home as she got off work," Liza Anderson, Longoria's publicist, told the AP Thursday. "The proposal was romantic and perfect. The couple plans to wed in France in the summer of 2007 in what they describe as a big, happy ceremony with lots of family and friends."
"I am thrilled to announce that Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, who have been dating steadily for two years, are officially engaged," Longoria's publicist said Thursday. "The couple have never been happier."
Eva and Tony met in the San Antonio Spurs' locker room in November 2004. After the two denied their affair in its early stages, a year later, in August 2005, the sexy brunette confirmed the rumors about their relationship telling People: "What's not to like?" Earlier this year, she confessed she would love to stay with Tony “forever,” and guess what, he apparently wants that too.
Her first phone call was to her parents and other family in San Antonio. As for that other big question, what's the ring like? That remains to be seen. Anderson said: "I don't know about the ring."
For Parker, he called his father Thursday to let him know of the proposal. "He did this all on his own," Tony Parker Sr. said. "I had actually thought it might happen sooner, but he caught me off-guard. I'm very happy for him."
The older Parker said he did not ask his son about the ring. "But," Tony Parker Sr. said, "I'm looking forward to seeing it."
They both made an appearance on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Thursday morning and confirmed the news.
"I always promised you that you would hear it first and here we are. I wanted to tell you that Tony and I are engaged," Longoria told Ryan Seacrest, a friend of the couple, on his KISS-FM radio show. She went on to say the proposal was "perfect, personal and sweet."
Longoria was married to Tyler Christopher, General Hospital star, from 2002 to 2004, and as such, was also credited as Eva Longoria Christopher. Longoria has been romantically linked to SAG president Edward W V Stephens, successful writer Milan Gracanin, ex-*NSYNC member JC Chasez, actor Mousir Syed and Life As We Know It star, Sean Faris (although both Faris and Longoria deny any romantic link).
