Challenges Simon Cowell to Put Up His Best Against Him
Paul Marturano, who recently appeared on American Idol and caught the nation’s attention as Paula Abdul’s Stalker, will be performing at Cascamorto, located at the corner of 20th and Arch St. in Center City Philadelphia from 5:30pm-8:30pm on Thursday, Feb. 21st. Admission is FREE. Donations for Loli’s Place, Inc. a non-profit organization that benefits homeless animals, will be accepted at the event. For more information about Loli’s Place, Inc. please visit http://www.lolisplace.com/ .
Marturano will be singing and playing the piano just as he has professionally for the past 11 years. He’ll perform original songs, cover songs, take requests, and will most likely throw in some off the wall comedy songs. “One lucky or…. unlucky lady,” as Marturano puts it, will get a reprise of Stalker, the song he dedicated to Paula Abdul on American Idol in front of over thirty-million viewers. For a sample of Paul’s original material or to see his American Idol performance, please visit http://www.paulpiano.net/
According to Marturano, he is looking forward to getting back out and performing especially in a place like, Cascamorto.
Cascamorto features live interactive piano music Tuesday thru Saturday nights, a warm personable staff, great drink specials, and a tasty bar menu. According to Mike Maragarite, Cascamorto’s owner, patrons can take advantage of Cascamorto's popular cab program. “Take a cab from inside the Philadelphia city limits, bring your receipt in and Cascamorto will pay the fare, you only have to tip the driver!”
If you have questions about the show, please contact Cascamorto. Stop in at 1939 Arch St. Philadelphia, PA or call 215-563-4704.
In the few short days following his American Idol appearance, Marturano has conducted over 150 radio interviews internationally, appeared on Access Hollywood, the most searched phrase on Google, MSN, and AOL on Jan. 16th and 17th was “Paula Abdul’s Stalker”, he was banned by the NFL from the Super Bowl when a radio station tried to send him as their press person, and he’s been in numerous internet and print articles including US Weekly, Star Magazine, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Washington Post.
When asked about American Idol, Marturano responded, “I’d like to do something for IdoI Gives Back like donating a portion of the revenue that comes in from people downloading Stalker from my website.” I am grateful to American Idol for everything that has happened and believe it or not, I am a Simon Cowell fan, especially a fan of what he does for the animals. I like most of his (Cowell) decisions on the show but if Simon put any of the top twelve finalists from American Idol on a stage with the instrument of their choice, no band, and put me on a stage with my piano, I am very confident that I will out perform all of them.”
