Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie choose Bono to be twins' godfather

Couple think U2 star would be a good influence on Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline

Irish rocker Bono is said to have agreed to become godfather to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newborn twins.

The couple, who welcomed Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline 2 weeks ago, have been staying at the U2 frontman’s mansion in the south of France for the past week.

And now they’ve asked Bono, 48, to take on the special role in their lives.

‘Brad and Angie think the world of Bono,’ a source tells the Sunday Mirror. ‘They have been friends for years.

'Brad is a massive U2 fan and Angelina is inspired by Bono’s humanitarian work.’

The couple are believed to be planning a Christening ceremony to make Bono’s position official.

Brad, 44, and Angelina, 33, are also parents to Shiloh, 2, and adopted kids Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3.
