Roofing Billionaire Dies From Own Roof
Ken Hendricks, a roofing billionaire and the 91st richest man in the US, died today after falling through his own garage roof. Hendricks was the founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of ABC Supply Co, the nation's largest wholesale distributor of roofing, which does about $3 billion in business a year.
In 2006, he remarked on his wealth in an interview and claimed that it didn’t "make any difference to him" and that he could only spend the money if he sold the company. He stated, "I'd have to sell the company, and I'll sell the company over my dead body." At 66, after receiving massive head injuries from his fall, Hendriks was pronounced dead this morning, and so as an additional irony, his wish just might come true.
