Will Smith Is On Top Of The World

Will Smith has been voted the top money-making movie star of 2008 in an annual poll of US cinema owners and film buyers. Think lots and lots of dollar signs! Smith, star of Hancock and Seven Pounds, is only the second African-American actor after Sidney Poitier to top the Quigley poll, which has been running for 76 years.

What an amazing accomplishment, we bet he's having a happy new year! He's so great though, Will Smith seems like such a likeable guy, how could you not be happy for the actor? Other actors on the list? Robert Downey Jr came second, Christian Bale third and Shia LaBeouf fourth.

Weekend Box Office Results

The weekend relied mostly on the star power of Jim Carrey and Will Smith, who have been among the very few actors that could attract audiences in the past, but the movies they headlined, Yes Man and Seven Pounds respectively, didn't stand out otherwise. What we mean to say is, it was a pretty weak box office overall this weekend. Everyone is holiday shopping, that's why! Here are the top five movies in the box office from this weekend Dec. 19th-21st:

1. Yes Man

2. Seven Pounds

3. The Tale of Desperaux

4. The Day The Earth Stood Still

5. Four Christmases

Will Smith's wife advice

Will Smith's wife Jada gave him advice before he shot a sex scene in new movie 'Seven Pounds'.

The married actor - who plays an IRS agent who changes the lives of seven strangers in the new film - found it difficult to cope with the saucy scene and so turned to his spouse for tips.

He revealed: "Jada said, 'Listen, I know you're uncomfortable, but you better not embarrass me.' She said, 'When you do that love scene, you better show 'em what you're working with!' "

Will - who raises three children with wife Jada Pinkett Smith - added he couldn't believe he was in bed with Rosario for the scene, and struggled to maintain his composure.

He added: "I think women, they can kind of separate stuff. But for me, I'm lying in the bed with Rosario Dawson. It was throwing me off a little bit!

"My grandmother was really firm about how men are supposed to treat women, so for me, my worst nightmare is for an actress to feel like I'm taking this opportunity to get a little quickie feel - you know, some legal cheating going on!"

Other celebrities to attend the premiere were comedian Ben Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor. Will Smith: Physically fit is the key to 'happiness'

Will Smith thinks being physically fit is the key to happiness.

The actor - who had to get in great shape for a number of film roles, including 'I Am Legend' and 'Ali' - thinks a healthy body equals a healthy mind.

He said: "I feel like everything in my life depends on physical conditioning. I love eating sweets and everything, but I think the quality of my parenting, the quality of my relationship with my wife - it is all based on being on great physical condition.

"I believe it's the beginning of finding true happiness."

Meanwhile, Will is to star in a prequel to 'I Am Legend'.

Director Francis Lawrence has confirmed the 'Men in Black' actor will reprise his role as Robert Neville - though he admits they haven't yet worked out a plot yet.

Francis said: "Absolutely, we're actually trying to crack a second movie. We're trying to figure out some ideas for it, but yes, it would be a prequel."

Will Smith and Cameron Diaz Named Best-Paid Actors

Will Smith may not be the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air anymore, but he’s the king of cash at the box office.

The Hancock star brought in $80 million in 2007—making him the best paid actor in Hollywood—according to a new ranking from Forbes magazine.

Women in Hollywood aren’t doing too shabbily either. Cameron Diaz came in second place among females on the list, raking in $50 million last year.

Smith wasn’t the only man to bring home the bacon: Johnny Depp nabbed the No. 2 spot with a $72 million paycheck. Comedians Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers laughed all the way to the bank by raking in $55 million last year. The two tied for third place on the publication’s list.

Atonement leading lady Keira Knightley earned $32 million, and Jennifer Aniston pulled in $27 million, Forbes reports. Although they’re certainly not hurting, these actresses still only make half as much as men in Hollywood, the business magazine notes.

In terms of media personalities, Oprah Winfrey is still the queen of all media. Her earnings last year totaled $275 million.

Meanwhile, Eddie Murphy's film Meet Dave came in a disappointing seventh, taking in only $5.3 million. It marks Murphy's lowest total for a debut since 2002's The Adventures of Pluto Nash.

Last month Murphy announced that Meet Dave would mark his movie retirement. He said he wished to return to the stage to do stand-up comedy.

Will Smith: I'll tell my wife if I need to have sex with someone else

Will Smith reckons it’s healthy to fancy other people when you're married and has no qualms telling his wife when he does.

The actor – who tied the knot with Jada Pinkett Smith 11 years ago –is determined to be honest about how he feels.

‘Our perspective is, you don’t avoid what’s natural and you’re going to be attracted to people,’ Will explains.

‘So sometimes we have the discussion: “Wow, this or that girl is freaking gorgeous”. I’m not going to say anything to my buddies that’s any different than what I say to my wife.’

And Will, 39, reckons he'll tell Jada - and she'll tell him - if they need to have sex with others.

Each will say: 'I’m not going to do it if you don’t approve of it,’ he says.

But Will's not sure what he'd do if Jada, 38, confides that she does want to take a lover.

‘I don’t know how I’d feel,’ he confesses. ‘But I know I would react better than if I found out about it afterwards.’

The couple are mum and dad to son Jayden, 10, and daughter Willow, 8.

Will - who is currently starring in Hancock with Charlize Theron - is also dad to son Willard from his first marriage.

Will Smith defending Hitler?!?!? This means trouble!

A Scottish newspaper is reporting that during an interview Smith made an alleged suggestion/comment in defense of Adolf Hitler, which in turn infuriated the Jewish community and has the Jewish Defense league calling for Sen. Barack Obama to repudiate Smith's comments and theaters to pull his newest film "I am Legend". Click here to read the full story on TMZ.com
Perhaps, the title of the film should be changed from "I am Legend", to "I'm in Trouble"
Will Smith has since released a statement regarding the incident and calls the claims of the Scottish paper ludicrous and untrue.

Will Smith looks at the Bright Side of Life

Actor Will Smith said that Adolph Hitler “... didn't wake up going, ‘Let me do the most evil thing I can so today.’ I think he woke up one morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good.’”
The box office champ and star of "I Am Legend" offended more than a few folks with the statement; the Jewish Defense League said that Smith's words "spit on the memory of every person murdered by the Nazis. His disgusting words stick a knife in the backs of every veteran who fought (and sometimes died) to save the world from the intentions of Adolf Hitler."

After the firestorm, Will clarified himself with the following:
"It is an awful and disgusting lie. It speaks to the dangerous power of an ignorant person with a pen. I am incensed and infuriated to have to respond to such ludicrous misinterpretation. Adolph Hitler was a vile, heinous, vicious killer responsible for one of the greatest acts of evil committed on this planet."

Tom Cruise Can Do Splits While Dancing

Tom Cruise amazed guests at David and Victoria Beckham's 'Welcome to Los Angeles' party by doing the splits.

The Hollywood superstar - who hosted the bash for the soccer superstar and his Spice Girl wife - was showing off his acrobatic dance moves while gyrating with wife Katie Holmes.

A source said: "The party was in full swing when Tom amazed guests by doing the splits while he was dancing with Katie."

David and Victoria - who moved to Los Angeles earlier this month with their three sons after David joined the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team - danced intimately for much of the evening.

At one point, during a romantic song, David pulled Victoria close to him and whispered: "I love you so much."

Guests at the exclusive party, held at Hollywood's Museum Of Contemporary Art on Sunday (22.07.07), were treated to a delicious banquet which included the traditional English dish of sausage and mash and the American favourite, burgers and fries.

They were also served vintage champagne and fresh fruit cocktails in black crystal glasses.

Celebrities in attendance included, Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher, Demi's ex-husband Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey and his girlfriend Jenny McCartney and Eva Longoria.

Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who were also seen getting down on the dancefloor, helped Tom and Katie organise the bash.
