Weekend Box Office Results

The weekend relied mostly on the star power of Jim Carrey and Will Smith, who have been among the very few actors that could attract audiences in the past, but the movies they headlined, Yes Man and Seven Pounds respectively, didn't stand out otherwise. What we mean to say is, it was a pretty weak box office overall this weekend. Everyone is holiday shopping, that's why! Here are the top five movies in the box office from this weekend Dec. 19th-21st:

1. Yes Man

2. Seven Pounds

3. The Tale of Desperaux

4. The Day The Earth Stood Still

5. Four Christmases

Britney Spears Makes Blue Carpet Comeback (YES!)

Britney Spears was on the blue carpet in support of last night’s Generation Rescue benefit fundraiser, making this her first appearance at a celeb function in quite awhile.

Hosted by Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, Generation Rescue's mission statement is, " to continue to discover and share the truth with families about the potential cause of their child’s Neurological Disorders so they can focus on effective treatments.”

McCarthy has been very involved in autism awareness and charity campaigns. She's been dedicated to finding better cures for the disorder.

Also in attendance at the celebrity fundraiser was Hugh Hefner and his Girls Next Door (Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt), as well as newlyweds Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller.

This was an interesting choice for Spears. She's looking pretty healthy though, what do we think?

Jim Carrey Gets Silly

Funnyman Jim Carrey caused quite a stir along the Malibu beach on the Fourth of July. Jim and girfriend, Jenny McCarthy were taking in some of the sunshine when the actor decided to switch outfits with his lovely blond.

McCarthy was photographed earlier in the day wearing the black bathing suit. This couple shares everything, apparently! They look so casual about it too! Ha! Kudos to McCarthy for having a good sense of humor to play along with his antics!

Tom Cruise Can Do Splits While Dancing

Tom Cruise amazed guests at David and Victoria Beckham's 'Welcome to Los Angeles' party by doing the splits.

The Hollywood superstar - who hosted the bash for the soccer superstar and his Spice Girl wife - was showing off his acrobatic dance moves while gyrating with wife Katie Holmes.

A source said: "The party was in full swing when Tom amazed guests by doing the splits while he was dancing with Katie."

David and Victoria - who moved to Los Angeles earlier this month with their three sons after David joined the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team - danced intimately for much of the evening.

At one point, during a romantic song, David pulled Victoria close to him and whispered: "I love you so much."

Guests at the exclusive party, held at Hollywood's Museum Of Contemporary Art on Sunday (22.07.07), were treated to a delicious banquet which included the traditional English dish of sausage and mash and the American favourite, burgers and fries.

They were also served vintage champagne and fresh fruit cocktails in black crystal glasses.

Celebrities in attendance included, Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher, Demi's ex-husband Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey and his girlfriend Jenny McCartney and Eva Longoria.

Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who were also seen getting down on the dancefloor, helped Tom and Katie organise the bash.

David Beckham "Welcome to L.A." Party

David Beckham made his hotly-anticipated debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team in front of a host of Hollywood stars on Saturday (21.07.07).

Katie Holmes, Eva Longoria, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jennifer Love Hewitt were among the sell-out crowd cheering on the sports superstar at the Home Depot Center Stadium.

David's wife Victoria was also in the stands along with the couple's three sons, Brooklyn, eight, Romeo, four and two-year-old Cruz.

The Spice Girl was seen sipping champagne with 'Desperate Housewives' beauty Eva, while her three sons found time during the match to entertain Katie's one-year-old daughter Suri.

Although David - who has signed a multi-million pound five-year contract with the club - only made it onto the pitch for the final 12 minutes of the match due to an ankle injury, he received an overwhelming reception.

The 27,000 fans gave him a standing ovation as he came on and cheered and applauded his every move and touch of the ball.

After the match - which English side Chelsea won 1-0 - the stars in attendance praised the Galaxy's most famous player.

Eva said: "It's wonderful that he is here. He will do a lot for soccer in America."

While fellow actress Jennifer said: "The game was better than any move premiere."

Last night (22.07.07), David and Victoria attended a 'Welcome to Hollywood' party thrown by good friends Tom Cruise and his wife Katie and Will Smith and his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

The invitation-only event was held at the Geffen Contemporary museum, which is part of the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Los Angeles.

The exclusive party was attended by a number of stars, including Jim Carrey and his partner Jenny McCarthy, Brooke Shields and Alyson Hannigan.

Jim Carrey Hires A Body Double To Fool Paparazzi

New Line Cinema Presents the Premiere of "The Number 23"

Jim Carrey was thrilled when he fooled the paparazzi during a recent trip to Israel by hiring a body double to impersonate him.

The Bruce Almighty star wanted to enjoy the country's holy sites without media intrusion and developed a plan to trick the paparazzi.

He explains, "I've been wanting to go (to Israel) my whole life and I had so much fun there. I never got a picture taken of me the whole time I was there."

"We avoided the paparazzi. They can be insane when you're in these places of worship. I got a local guy who sort of looks like me as a body double, he's actually a shepherd."

"I hired him and checked him into the King David hotel where all the celebrities go. The whole nation of press went and hung out outside that hotel for four days waiting for me to go out and see the sites."

"So every night on television they were going, 'Jim Carrey is a boor. He doesn't go anywhere. He comes to Israel and he sits in his room and he orders hamburgers!'

"(Meanwhile) I was completely unmolested going around to all the wonderful holy sites. I was pretty happy about the whole thing!"
