Britney Spears’ New Single Goes Straight to #1

Britney Spears’ latest single “Hold it Against Me” dropped on Tuesday and by Wednesday had gone straight to the top of the iTunes charts. But don’t expect a live performance by Britney at the Grammy Awards in February. Even though her life has rebounded significantly since her disastrous live appearance on the 2007 MTV VMAs, it is unlikely that live TV performances are in her near future.

Spears has been dissected by the pop culture media for every thing from her celebrity fashion style to her money management problems, but the one thing nobody can deny is the major danceabilty of her new hit. Says Entertainment Weekly’s music critic Leah Greenblatt, the song is super catchy: “Two weeks later, you’re, like, dreaming that song and singing it in the shower,” she says.

Britney Spears’ Parents Reconcile

In today’s happy and scandal-free breaking celebrity news, Lynne and Jamie Spears, parents to megastar Britney as well as daughter Jamie Lynne and son Bryan, apparently can’t make divorce work and are getting back together. People magazine reports that the two are “not remarried but back together.”

After a difficult few years that saw Britney experience a very public breakdown and daughter Jamie Lynne becoming a teen mom, the two parents, who were married from 1975 until 2002, have been seen enjoying time together at L.A. hot spot Boudoir, listening to a DJ spin tunes by none other than daughter Britney. The two were reportedly “dancing and laughing, having fun”

Britney Spears Fighting Court Case, Working on New Album

Britney Spears has spent the past decade as an icon of celebrity fashion style as well as pop music, and she is currently trying to keep upcoming court proceedings from becoming public. Former bodyguard Fernando Flores has sued Spears, saying that she sexually harassed him, and Spears’ lawyers are trying to have the case moved from civil to probate court so that the proceedings will not become public. The Spears legal team argues that Flores would use civil court to reveal personal information and extort a settlement from her.

But Spears is also busy in the studio, working with producers Max Martin and Dr. Luke, who have been behind some of her biggest hits. The new album should be released in early 2011. Producer Dr. Luke wouldn’t give specifics on the album, but said, ''It'll be a departure from what you've heard.”

Why is Britney Spears hiding her lip?

Pop Princess Britney Spears was a little self-conscious this morning about her lip as she headed to the Commons in Calabasas, California on October 19, 2010 for some shopping and coffee with her patient bodyguard. Britney was denied entrance to the stores of her choice and Starbucks because of a power outage and headed back to the car but why was she hiding her lip from the cameras and acting strange? Could Brit have a cold sore, falling back into her old odd ways or just not in the mood? In other recent news it has been reported that the pop singer could be granted the right to invest her funds with the help of her advisers into some heavy companies.

Britney Fills Fox Network with 'Glee'

Britney Spears is back in the middle of the hottest celebrity news and gossip after appearing on hit television show “Glee.” The episode, which aired Tuesday night on Fox, was the highest rated episode of “Glee” among adults age 18-49. The episode out-paced second place CBS by 24% in the adult demographic. The show featured several of her hit songs, including “Baby One More Time,” and “Me Against the Music.”

The idea for her cameo appearance on the Britney-themed episode of “Glee” came from her co-manager Adam leber, who floated the idea on Twitter. It received a hugely positive response, and “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy within days said he was interested in pursuing the idea of having Britney on the show. The rest, as they say, is television history.

Miley Cyrus Sets Up Online Auction for Haiti

Teen superstar Miley Cyrus has organized an online auction to benefit Haiti featuring donations from many of her celebrity friends.

"Ever since the earthquake, I've been trying to do my part to help the people of Haiti – and I wanted to do more," Cyrus said.

The auction will begin on Feb. 8 at Ebay.com/Miley. Miley fans can bid on the Herve Leger dress the she wore to the Jan. 31 Grammy Awards and two tickets to the Hollywood premiere of her new film, The Last Song.

Several other celebrities have donated things for the auction. "My mom and I started calling and texting all of our friends to see if they’d like to be a part of the auction," Miley said. "Demi [Lovato] was one of the first to respond. Hugh Jackman was also excited to donate something."

Britney Spears gave the custom made silver Versace dress she wore to the 2008 MTV VMAs and Nicole Richie donated jewelry from her line House of Harlow. "I texted Nicole and right away she sent over some amazing jewelry and Joel [Madden] sent some of his clothes," Miley said.

All the proceeds from the auction will go to the American Red Cross to support the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

"I want to get people involved and show that even the little things you can do can make a difference," Miley said.

K.Fed Blames Weight Gain on Depression

Kevin Federline, once known as Mr. Britney Spears, admitted to Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp viewers that his weight gain was due to depression. When asked what brought on his depression, Federline stated, "A number of things between, I mean, everybody knows what happened with me and Brit. I’m not going to say that’s the total cause of it but, I mean, just not being happy with myself was probably the main part of my depression."

Kevin was Britney's back up dancer before he became her husband in 2004. After divorcing Spears in 2006, Federline stopped dancing and started "sitting on the couch all day." Kevin will be competing with other celebrities to see who can drop the most weight.

Brad Renfo's Last Interview Surfaces

Brad Renfro died in 2008 (Jan 15) at the age of 25 of a heroin overdose. Brad started acting at age 10 and had a promising career in the 1990's. While in recent years he wasn't as popular as Lindsay Lohan or Britney, he too lost his way and eventually lost the battle with drugs. His last movie "The Informers" was released in 2009 while it was filmed in 2007.

Sadly in this last interview which surfaced just recently on youtube by a user named Jay (film maker/director), Brad speaks painfully of how Hollywood and the lifestyle so many think is acceptable will ruin you.

Once a very attractive young man, you can see Brad is a bloated and worn shell of what he once was.

The interview shot in 2007 changes from upbeat to somber and then haunting as he forecasts his own fate: "A lot of people don't make it. They don't live through it." It's sad that he gave such strong advice and was trapped by his own demons.

Britney Spears has probably one of the most successful comebacks in entertainment history. Despite her fall in the past years Britney’s been doing better than ever! The pop princess will receive a special award at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards. She will be presented with the Ultimate Choice Award for her "extraordinary contributions to the entertainment industry". The 27-year-old star is also nominated in three categories, Choice Music Single, Choice Female Artist and Choice Music Tour. She will be up against stars including Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Kelly Clarkson. Britney's performance will mark 10 years since the first Teen Choice Awards in 1999. Other performances will be also be from Black Eyed Peas, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and Cobra Starship with Leighton Meester.

Britney Spears' Conservatorship Could Be Set to End

Pop superstar Britney Spears may be allowed to make her own decisions soon. Her father Jamie Spears has been the co-conservator of her personal and professional affairs after her breakdown last year. He wants the conditions of the agreement to be reviewed by a judge when Britney's Circus tour comes to an end in November.

Gossip website TMZ reports: "Jamie can't ask the judge to end it - just to review it. The judge then decides if Britney should regain control of her life."

The 27-year-old star's father thinks that Britney is now strong enough to look after herself. She currently has joint custody with ex-husband Kevin Federline of her two children, Preston, three, and Jayden, two.

In 2005 Kevin and Britney stared in a reality show called "Britney and Kevin: Chaotic" and he is now hoping to start a new reality show with his girlfriend Victoria Prince and his sons.

A source said: "Victoria will be a big part of the series. They are not engaged, but she lives with him full-time in his place in Encino."

"Victoria and Britney first met before Britney's tour at Kevin's home. They had a meeting face-to-face, when Victoria was home alone with the kids. It was awkward, but Britney was nice."

Poor Britney! Fan Jumps On Stage

Poor Britney Spears. We do kind of feel bad about the little incident that took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday (May 2) when a crazy fan jumped on stage with the pop star in Uncasville, Conn. Who knew that Conn. fans had such guts!? Britney truly looked very startled and didn't seem to know what to do as the fan approached her and started dancing. The fan was escorted off the stage by security and Britney’s backup dancers. The fan is supposedly due in court in Connecticut on June 18 for a breach of peace charge. Major Ouch! Britney's Hair Comes Out!

No, no, it's not what you think. She didn't shave her head again. At Britney Spears' Oakland, California concert on Wednesday night, some of her hair extensions were ripped out in the middle of one of her songs. Check out the video here. OUCH! Either she needs to hire a new hairstylist to make sure those things stay in better or a big clump of hair was probably taken out with them and that calls for a major, "OUCH!"

So what exactly happened? It basically looks like she was lifted from a couch during a trapeze stunt and her hair may have gotten caught on something. Britney has had a few 'oops moments' at her concerts but they've mostly included the star yelling out weird obscenities or phrases to the crowd.

Britney Spears Starts The Circus

Britney Spears kicked off her tour in New Orleans last night (03.03.09).

The troubled pop princess descended from the ceiling of the New Orleans Arena dressed as a ringmaster to perform the title track of her album 'Circus'.

The tour is Britney's first run of arena shows in nearly five years and featured jugglers, clowns, ninjas and aerial acrobats.

The singer showed off her newly-buff body in a series of slinky, revealing costumes, including thigh-high black boots and a feathered cheetah headdress.

However, Britney lip-synched on almost all her songs.

The Pussycat Dolls warmed up the crowd from 8pm, playing 40 minutes of their hits including 'Don't Cha', 'When I Grow Up' and 'Bottle Pop'.

The crowd erupted when Britney appeared onstage at 9.20pm and didn't stop screaming until her encore performance of 'Womanizer' 90 minutes later.

She performed 'Baby One More Time', 'Piece of Me' and 'Gimme More' but refused to speak to the crowd until the very end of the show, when she said: "Thank you New Orleans, I love u guys. Did y'all have a good time? Thank you so much."

The tour will take in 25 US dates but there is reportedly already tension brewing between Britney and her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who is being paid £3,500 a week to join the singer so she can have their sons Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two, by her side.

Kevin had promised to support Britney during her last dress rehearsal on Monday (02.03.09) but he abandoned the singer and went to a New Orleans casino with friends.

A source said: "On Monday, when Britney was preparing, you might have thought he would have been at her side with the boys.

"Instead he spent the night in Harrah's Casino, hitting the blackjack tables and knocking back drinks with three pals."

Britney has been hard at work preparing for the first stop on her 'Circus' tour which begins tomorrow night (March 3) in New Orleans.
