Whitney Houston: Stepmother sues over her dad's life insurance policy

Whitney Houston is being sued by her stepmother Barbara over her dad’s life insurance policy.

The singer is accused of improperly keeping $1 million (£650,000) left by John Houston when he died 5 years ago.

Her stepmum claims that Whitney, 45, should have paid off the £468,000 mortgage on her father’s New Jersey house, where Barbara still lives, and returned the remaining cash to her.

Lawyers for both parties declined to comment, reports the BBC.

Whitney Houston is set for a shock – ex-husband Bobby Brown is being lined up to go into the Celebrity Big Brother house with her.

The troubled singer, 45, has turned her life around and relaunched her career since divorcing her husband 2 years ago.

So her ex is unlikely to be someone she'd like to share the house with.

‘It was bad enough when Brigitte Nielson has to suffer her ex mother-in-law Jackie Stallone turning up in the house,’ a source tells The Daily Star.

‘But Bobby and Whitney together? It’s a time bomb waiting to go off.’

Bobby, 39, and Whitney, who married in 1992, have a 15-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina.

Whitney Houston’s planning a dramatic comeback after 6 years out of the spotlight and the original diva hopes that her drug and relationship demons haven’t ruined her career for ever.

Snapped on 27 July at West Hollywood club Villa, Whitney, 45, looked happy with toyboy Ray J, 27, and onlookers said she didn’t touch any alcohol.

Her new track Like I Never Left has been leaked on to the web – and some forums suggest that her power vocals have been weakened by years of crack abuse.

One said: ‘It’s not bad, but it’s not good.’ The track was leaked ahead of plans for a new album this autumn and one of the album’s producers is Mark Ronson.

‘She’s got all the top producers involved,’ the source continues. ‘It just depends if her voice can cut it.’

Whitney's putting her notoriously unhealthy 14-year marriage to Bobby Brown, 39, with whom she split in 2006, behind her.

But sources suggest that her on-off affair with producer Ray J is also stormy. She left him last February after a sex tape with his ex, US TV star Kim Kardashian, 27, surfaced, but took him back.

‘They’re on and off so often it’s difficult to keep up,’ a friend tells Now. ‘He’s 18 years younger than her, but he puts up with her erratic behaviour. We’re hoping it’ll be a stable relationship.’

WTF Ray J Lands Condom Deal?

Whitney Houston's boytoy lover RAY J has landed a deal with America's leading condom company after hitting the headlines for his part in a leaked sex tape.

The bosses of contraceptive giants Trojan have signed up to sponsor the R&B playboy, whose home video footage of a lovemaking session with Los Angeles socialite Kim Kardashian caused a furore last year (06) when it was leaked to an Internet porn firm.

Ray J says, "I'm doing a little Trojan deal. It's in play right now."

The young entrepreneur insists he has no problems with the quirky deal - because it's all just business: "At this moment you can either sit back and watch everything just go, or you can capitalize and come up with a way to make $20 million a year."

The Trojan condom deal isn't the only one the enterprising singer is working on.

He adds, "I'm sponsoring a new drink that kind of stimulates you, like liquid Ecstasy, but over-the-counter."
