Tara Reid: Actress says she's clean and sober

Tara Reid has spoken out about her time in rehab.

The American Pie actress, 33, checked into the Promises Treatment Center in Malibu on 8 December.

No other details were given at the time.

‘Some people get forced to be in rehab,’ Tara says.

‘I went there by myself. I put myself there. It was the greatest decision I ever made. The hardest thing was walking through the door for the first time - finally admitting that I had a problem. I had been in such denial.'

Tara, who is dating her business partner Julien Jarmoune, 34, spent 60 days at the facility.

'It was definitely worth it,' she tells In Touch. 'Rehab saved my life. Before I used to think about tomorrow and I hated it. Now I can't wait because I am clean and sober and I am excited.’

Tara Reid: 'sad' In Rehab

Tara Reid checked into rehab because she was "sad and conflicted".

The 33-year-old actress recently completed a 60-day stay at Malibu's Promises rehab centre - where Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears have previously been treated - for substance abuse, and insists the move was the "greatest decision" she has ever made.

She said: "I didn't like the person I was. I was sad and conflicted.

"Some people get forced to be in rehab. I went there by myself. I put myself there. It was the greatest decision I ever made."

Tara insists checking into the facility was one of the toughest times she has ever been through, but is delighted with the effect the treatment had on her.

She added to In Touch Weekly magazine: "The hardest thing was walking through the door for the first time - finally admitting that I had a problem. I had been in such denial.

"Rehab saved my life. Before I used to think about tomorrow and I hated it. Now I can't wait because I am clean and sober and I am excited."

The sad part is, before she became better known for her antics than her acting, Lohan was actually a TALENTED actress. She had genuine potential, poised to become the next Jodie Foster.

Tara Reid says she finds criticism about her body upsetting.

The American Pie star has scars on her stomach from liposuction in 2004 and subsequent reconstructive surgery in 2006.

‘I’ve been a media target for years now,’ Tara tells People magazine.

‘It does hurt my feelings, but what can I do? I have to move on.'

The actress, 33, who also had a botched boob job, says it's something she'll have to live with.

‘They are my battle wounds,’ she says.

Tara accidentally revealed her boobs at a party in 2004 when her dress strap fell down.

Tara Reid, famous for her roles in the American Pie teen movies, is the latest celebrity to launch a clothing line. The name of the line is Mantra by Tara Reid. It features t-shirts, dresses, bikinis, ponchos, and hoodies decorated with beads and charms. The pricing ranges from $65 and $180 depending on the item.
