Lisa Marie Presley has spoken out in support of Scientology in the wake of Jett Travolta's death.

The daughter of the late Elvis Presley rubbishes claims that people following the religion do not believe in medical care.

‘Just like anyone else, if one is sick, they go to the doctor,’ she writes on her blog.

'If a medication will make it better then they take it.'

Lisa, 40, is close to John Travolta, 54, and his wife Kelly Preston, 46.

Their 16-year-old son Jett died in the Bahamas last week following a seizure.

Lisa Marie Presley has given birth to twin girls.

The 40-year-old singer welcomed the babies into the world - weighing 5 lbs 15 oz and 5 lbs 2 oz - after having a caesarean section last Tuesday (07.10.08), her spokesperson Cindy Guagenti has revealed.

Cindy, who wouldn't reveal the infants' names, said: "The babies and mom are happy and healthy and resting at home."

The twins are Lisa Marie's first children with husband Michael Lockwood, 47.

She also has two children, 19-year-old daughter Riley and 15-year-old son Benjamin, with ex-husband musician Danny Keough.

Lisa Marie's mother Priscilla revealed the pregnancy following speculation about her daughter's weight gain.

She said: "She wanted it really to be kept a secret for a long time, and I think women should, because they should be able to announce what they're having and when it's time to make the announcement."

It had previously been rumoured that Lisa Marie was expecting a daughter and a son, and was planning to pay tribute to her father, late rock 'n' roll singer Elvis, in naming them.

A source claimed she was planning to name the boy Jesse, after Elvis' identical twin who was stillborn and the girl Gladys Love after Elvis' mother.

Lisa Marie Presley is due to give birth to twins this autumn.

The singer, 40, announced in March that she was having a baby with rocker husband Michael Lockwood, 47.

And her mum Priscilla, 63, says the couple are delighted with the unexpected news.

‘She wanted it really to be kept a secret for a long time,’ she tells Entertainment Tonight.

‘I think women should, because they should be able to announce what they're having and when it's time to make the announcement.'

Lisa – whose dad Elvis Presley was a twin - has 2 children from her previous marriage to Danny Keough.

Other stars to have welcomed twins this year are Angelina Jolie, 33, who gave birth to Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline last month.

And Jennifer Lopez, 38, had Max and Emme in February.

Lisa Marie Presley is expecting twins, her rep confirms to CelebTV.com.

“She is, yes,” Cindy Guagenti said in a statement Tuesday.

Presley, 40, announced in March that she and her husband, guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood, were expecting a baby in the fall.

Elvis’ daughter lashed out at the time on her MySpace page, saying that she broke the news in response to nasty media comments about her weight.

“Once they got a glimpse of my expanding physique a few days ago, they have been like a pack of coyotes circling their prey whilst eerily howling with delight,” she wrote.

The twins will be Presley’s third and fourth children.

The singer has a son and a daughter from her first marriage to musician Danny Keough, which ended in 1994. Presley was also briefly married to Michael Jackson and to actor Nicholas Cage.

She married Lockwood in a traditional Japanese ceremony in Kyoto in January 2006.
