Recently married in a lavish series of ceremonies in India, Katy Perry and Russell Brand arrived at Sunday’s MTV European Music Awards sporting matching yellow “micro pavé” diamond wedding bands. It was the first appearance together of the perennial celebrity news and gossip subjects since their fabulous wedding.

Their seriously blingy fashion accessories were estimated by the Diamond Information Center to be worth around $50,000 to $75,000 each. At the awards show, Katy wowed the photographers and audience in a sexy, short red Jeremy Scott dress before taking home the Best Video award for her hit single “California Gurls.” She paired the dress with blue shoes and wore her hair in a captivating updo.

Rihanna Didn’t Dis BFF Katy Perry

The latest celebrity news and gossip concerns Rihanna’s absence from friend Katy Perry’s wedding last weekend, and whether it signaled a rift in their friendship. However, all is well, because Rihanna had a very good excuse. According to a source close to Perry, she was finishing an album and had just hired a new manager, the combination of which threw her schedule off.

Apparently Perry, one of the world’s top pop music and fashion stars, saved a place for Rihanna, just in case, but she knew it would be difficult for her to make it. Perry and British comedian Russell Brand were wed in Northern India in a lavish ceremony. For the part of the ceremony presided over by a Christian minister, Perry wore a couture dress by fashion designer Elie Saab.

Singer and fashion trend maker Rihanna has been in Paris for Fashion Week, and was recently photographed leaving her hotel wearing a sweater adorned with owls and birds. She took a meeting at the headquarters of fashion industry star Jean Paul Gaultier while in the City of Lights.

Rihanna also recently revealed that she and pop sensation Katy Perry have become good friends and that the two plan to collaborate on a song. They have not decided whether the duet would be for Rihanna’s upcoming Loud! Album or for a re-release of Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream. Rihanna said, “We just clicked,” by way of explanation of her personal and professional friendship with Perry.

Katy Perry, Russell Brand Plan Charitable Wedding

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are planning to tie the knot this month, but unlike a lot of celebrity news and gossip about weddings, the news looks “utterly mundane” to quote the groom. Russell Brand recently told Heart 106.2’s Harriett Scott that the wedding will feature a first dance and a wedding dinner, and that he’s letting his bride plan everything.

This latest bit of celebrity news comes with a more humane side, too: the couple has asked their famous wedding guests to refrain from showering them with gifts and give to charities instead. Said Brand, “Katy has got a good job, and I’ve got a good job, it seems indulgent to ask for more things.”

One of the mysteries remaining when it comes to the wedding is what type of wedding dress Perry will wear. Something by one of the top fashion designers? Or something more unusual?

Comedian Russell Brand and pop singer Katy Perry spent the New Year in India on a vacation that was a Christmas gift to Katy, where Russell decided to pop the question! Plus, the couple (who have only been dating a few months) were blessed with "luck and divine happiness" by a guru right before midnight on New Year's Eve. Reports claim that "the ceremony is usually used to bless new couples in the hope that it might lead them toward marriage." After a few days of speculation, Russell confirmed the engagement by texting, "It's true. Much love," to the UK's Sun newspaper.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry are a Hot New Item

Comedian Russell Brand is so smitten with singer Katy Perry – who he recently enjoyed a romantic holiday in Thailand with – he has vowed to end his womanising ways.

"I think I'm in love," Russell said.

When asked about his relationship with Katy, he said: "I don't think I should be drawn on that."

Friends say the 34-year-old British star wants to keep the romance quiet so he doesn’t spoil his chances with the brunette beauty.

"Russell has had a crush on Katy for ages and was like an excited schoolboy after they got together," a friend told Britian's The Sun newspaper.

"He really sees her as an ideal catch and is prepared to stop seeing other girls."

"He doesn't want to talk about it yet as he doesn't want to blow his chances."

The 24-year-old singer was photographed in London with Russell over the weekend and despite heading to France for Paris Fashion Week, she is excited to return to the presenter’s home.

"She knows about Russell's reputation but finds him really charming and funny," a source said. "She's keen to make a go of it."

Katy and Russell were first romantically linked after the MTV Video Music Awards when they were spotted kissing at Lady Gaga's after-party at New York nightspot Avenue.

Katy Perry Sues Australian Fashion Designer Katie Perry

Tuesday, June 16th, it was reported in an Australian newspaper that fashion designer, Katie Perry was served a cease-and-desist order from lawyers representing singer, Katy Perry aimed at stopping her from trademarking her birth name for a clothing label. Katie Perry started her "luxury loungewear" line more than two years ago. She has been selling her clothes online and through local stores. She recently opened her first retail store in Sydney when she first filed to trademark her name for the store and her line.

She then received a letter from a British law firm, on the behalf of Katy Perry, asking her to stop selling her line. "I got such a huge shock. It really felt like I was being intimidated and bullied into signing everything away," Katie Perry told the newspaper. "It asked me to give up the trademark, withdraw sales of my clothes, withdraw any advertising and any Web sites and sign that I will not in the future use a similar trademark to Katy Perry. I pretty much burst into tears," stated designer Katie Perry.

"I love my business. I'm not going to give it away without a fight, either," she said. She has also stated that she has no plans to cease and desist just because her name happens to be similar to an internationally famous pop star. Looks like we have a Perry Perry showdown on our hands.

We've got two new releases from some Top 40 divas that we think you'll like. The first one comes from star Katy Perry. No silly antics this time around. No kissing girls, either. Singer Katy Perry has released her latest single, "Thinking Of You," and come out with a pretty deep music video for the power ballad, too. What are your thoughts on it? Should she just stick to her pop dance songs making fun of guys? I am a fan of this song but think the video is a bit too much.



Next comes a new music video from powerhouse singer Leona Lewis. Gossip Girl's Chase Crawford also stars with Lewis in the vid! Kristen Stewart (who, thanks to Twilight, has managed to make Hayden Christiansen look like Sir Laurence Olivier), will play Joan Jett (JOAN JETT!) in the biopic The Runaways. Kristen is perfectly capable to play a dime store mannequin, but she is no Joan Jett. Kristen is probably going to get nominated for a Razzie for this performance this year even though they haven't even shot it yet.

The movie will be directed and written by music video director Floria Sigismondi (best known for her work with Marilyn Manson). Joan Jett is a producer on the movie. It will start filming sometime next year. They have to work around Kristen's shooting schedule for the Twilight sequels.

Yeah? What's next for this "star-studded" cast? Heidi Montag as Lita Ford? (I vote for Heather Chadwell -- Rock of Love 1 & 2, I Love Money, Rock of Love: Charm School -- but who goes by me?) Taylor Swift as Cherie Currie? Katy Perry as Jackie Fox?

Pink's six week run at #1 ends this week as "So What" drops to the runner-up slot. Taking its place is "Hot N Cold," the second #1 single from Katy Perry. Earlier this year "I Kissed A Girl" spent three weeks atop the chart. "I Kissed A Girl" is still hanging around the chart at #42 after 24 weeks. Perry will certainly be one of the top artists of 2008 when our year-end artist chart is published at the end of December. Perry's real name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson. She was born in Santa Barbara, California, the daughter of two pastors. In fact, her first CD released in 2001, called "Katy Hudson," was a Christian gospel album. Now her music and her outfits are pretty far removed from gospel... Enjoy the new chart this week!

Katy Perry's London move

The American singer performed an intimate show at the Water Rats Theatre in Kings Cross, London, on Wednesday (10.09.08) and told fans she has fallen in love with the city and wants to move to the UK capital.

She said: "Thanks for popping my cork, London, it's been really messy! I love this city and I want to get a place here."

The 23-year-old singer has been at number one in the UK chart for five weeks with her single 'I Kissed A Girl', but performed to an intimate crowd of just 200 people at the venue.

Wearing a low-cut red top and tight black shorts, Katy thrilled the audience with a selection of tracks, but the biggest cheer of the night was reserved for her controversial smash hit single.

Recently, Katy's mother Mary Hudson - who is deeply religious - branded the song "shameful and disgusting" and admitted she strongly disagreed with her daughter's raunchy image.

Mary - who along with her husband Keith is a preacher in California - said: "I can't even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. It promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray.

"She is our daughter but we strongly disagree with how she is conducting herself and she knows how disappointed we are.

"The message she is promoting is about homosexuality, which the bible clearly states is a sin."

She's had major success in the pop music realm this summer with her scandalous hit “I Kissed a Girl,” and now Katy Perry is on to new things! She's shooting a music video for her new single, "Hot N Cold."

Sporting a white spaghetti strap tank top and belted high-waisted white shorts teamed with a pair of pink flats, Perry was spotted gallivanting around Los Angeles as she filmed scenes for the new song.

She never disappoints with her crazy outfits. We like this choice as her next single, it's a good one! Katy is set to perform on the VMA's on Sunday night so watch it!

Jesse McCartney Has It Pretty Tough

Taping at 7am this morning in Midtown Manhattan was Katy Perry, Jesse McCartney and The Pussycat Dolls. The singers were all there for The Today Show Summer Concert Series. Looks like McCartney can't complain, he's surrounded by pretty women! The acts were all there for the show's theme, "Songs of Summer."
