Beloved Author of 'Catcher in the Rye' Dies at 91
We will all remember J. D. Salinger as the author of “Catcher in the Rye”. The Seattle Post recognizes the Catcher in The Rye to be “one of the most influential novels in modern American literature.
Although his Salinger’s work was highly anticipated, he was a simple man, who separated fame and fortune from the love of his writing. Also in the Seattle Post, Salinger reveals his true work ethic, and his feelings about being in the spotlight. “There is a marvelous peace in not publishing. I like to write. I love to write. But I write for myself and my own pleasure”.
Salinger died today in his home of natural causes.
