The cast of the surprise hit show "Glee" was rumored to be possibly appearing in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, with an invite from Macy's themselves - but turns out NBC shut it down and pulled the singing sensations from the lineup, disappointing fans across the country.
"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy responded snarkily: "I completely understand NBC's position, and look forward to seeing a Jay Leno float." Sources from NBC have stated that the network feels that featuring the cast would be too much promotion for the show.
However, now it is suspected that the network might have had another motive. Not long after this news hit headlines, news of a new NBC show turned up. And not just any show - it's called "The Sing-Off," and will feature a capella singing groups a chance to compete for a recording contract with Epic Records/Sony Entertainment. Coincidence?
