Legendary Actor Paul Newman Dies at age 83
Paul Newman much loved and respected actor and icon has passed away at his Westport, Connecticut home after suffering a long battle with cancer, according to statement released by his publicist Jeff Sanderson. Newman has starred in well over one hundred movie, television, and Broadway roles. Some of Newman's best known roles are in films such as "The Hustler", "Cool Hand Luke", and "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid". He was also the founder of the Newman's Own product line of all natural salad dressings, popcorn, sauces, and lemonade. Newman's Own is also one of the nations largest charitable organizations donating more that 250 million dollars to various charity groups across the country.
Newman had been nominated for eight Academy Awards and won once for his role in "The Color of Money", he was also awarded with an honorary Oscar for his humanitarian efforts. He was also an avid race car drive competeing in his last race at age 82 and finishing in fourth place! Newman is survived by his wife Joanne Woodward, five children, two grandsons, and his older brother Arthur.
Hollywood has definitely lost a legend and his legacy will continue to live on through his many classic films and charitable endeavors. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
