Celebrity News: Daniel Craig Signs Record Breaking Bond Deal

Daniel Craig has signed up to play James Bond in the next four films.

The actor - who first starred as 007 in 'Casino Royale' in 2006 - is already filming his second British spy movie, tentatively titled Bond 22, and has now signed a contract with MGM for another three films.

MGM's chief executive Harry Sloan said: "We have signed Daniel Craig to do four more James Bond films, because these franchises are the bases of any studio."

The 39-year-old star's contract - expected to net him over US $60 million - will incorporate a sliding salary range, dependant on how much each film makes at the box office and in merchandising.

Meanwhile, Daniel has been named number 10 in Arena magazine's list of Britain's Most Powerful Men aged 40 or under.

He was the only actor to make it into the top 10, and finished ahead of Formula One racing driver Lewis Hamilton and Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen.

Former England soccer captain David Beckham topped the list.
