Restraining order against Sam Lutfi extended

Britney Spears' former pal Sam Lutfi's restraining order was extended until July 31, a Los Angeles court decided Wednesday. The initial restraining order was placed in February after Lynn Spears claimed Lutfi was drugging her daughter.

According to legal experts, the order can be extended for up to five years. For now, Britney's father and lawyer's conservatorship remains in place; it will be re-reviewed in court on July 31, as well.

Jamie Spears' Conservatorship Extended

The Commissioner ruled that Jamie Spears’ control over Britney will be extended another five months. Originally set to expire on March 10, his temporary conservatorship of her estate will last until July 31st.

In other Britney news, the pop star’s ex-sidekick Sam Lutfi wants Spears to testify in court concerning his restraining order. “I am going to call Britney to the stand so she can tell the world how I was helping her,” Sam told a friend. “I am innocent. I am Britney’s friend and would never hurt her.”

Additionally, Spears is rumored to have once again dumped her paparazzi boyfriend Adnan Ghalib.

Dad granted legal control over Britney

In an emergency hearing Friday, Jamie Spears was granted temporary legal custody of daughter Britney until the next hearing on Monday.

Commissioner Reva Goetz said she felt it was in Spears' "best interest," and also gave Jamie Spears the right to "prosecute any civil harassment restraining orders." According to Court rep Allan Parachini, "there was a civil harassment restraining order issued against Sam Lutfi," the singer's pal and manager.

Spears' father will now have control over Spears' hospital visitors and can employ security guards. He has access to her finances and medical records and can speak to her doctors, although he does not currently have any authority over her treatment.

Jamie Spears and wife Lynne left the courtroom without speaking to reporters, but Lutfi spoke out before the decision was made: "I object to this. Britney is fully capable of handling her own finances. Her doctors are capable of handling her health care," Lutfi told People. "You'd think in a time like this, the family would be at the hospital taking care of their daughter, rather than fighting for her money. How sad."

Meanwhile, a source close to Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, stated Federline is in support of the singer's hospitalization. "Kevin legitimately wants Britney to get better. He wants her to be in their sons' lives. He wants them to have a loving relationship. He wants her to get healthy so she can be the mother they need and deserve," the source said.

Britney in treatment?

On The View this morning, Barbara Walters said she received a call from Britney Spears' manager and pal Sam Lutfi.

"She has been to a psychiatrist," Walters said she learned from Lutfi. "She, I assume, is starting some kind of treatment."

Walters also said Spears is reportedly back in touch with her mother, although she is still suffering from "mood swings" and trouble sleeping.

When the other hosts on The View questioned Lutfi's report, Walters replied, "I don't know if anybody is telling the truth or not telling the truth." She added, "He has been with her constantly. He seems to be enormously supportive."
