Britney bonds with Mel?

It seems Britney Spears' dinner dates have been more interesting as of late. The trainwreck star was seen dining over the weekend with actor/director Mel Gibson - but that's not the least of it.

The former neighbors (Spears used to live near Gibson in Malibu) and their families have met multiple times since the singer's second hospital stint last month, an inside source told People.

"Mel and his wife Robin clearly saw a woman in crisis and wanted to extend themselves in any way possible," the source said.

"There's just a handful of people in the world who understand the kind of intense attention that Britney goes through, and how to raise a family with some semblance of privacy and how to keep one's family intact and out of the limelight."

"There are no expectations, there is no agenda. It's simply an act of human kindness – one neighbor reaching out to the other," the source added.


In other Spears news, the singer has been ordered to pay $375,000 of Kevin Federline's legal bills. According to Los Angeles Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, the legal billing is "reasonable" since "the actions of [Spears] caused the great majority of litigation."

The singer will also appear on the March 24 episode of CBS's How I Met Your Mother. Spears plays a receptionist at a dermatologist's office. Her first scripted words are: "Can we have sex and then go shopping?"

Mel Gibson At It Again: "Lady F**k Off"

According to TMZ, Mel Gibson went on another one of his babbling rampages. Gibson was speaking to a film class at Cal State Northridge, when an expert on the Mayan culture accused him of racially stereotyping the Mayans in "Apocalypto".

Alicia Estrada, an Assistant Professor of Central American Studies at CSUN, asked him if he even read up on the Mayans before shooting the film. She kept insisting sacrificial ceremonies and had bloodthirsty tendencies depicted in the movie were both wrong and racist. Somewhere along the lines Gibson exploded and yelled "Lady F**k Off".

Mel also screamed "Make your own movie" as emotional Mayan community members were escorted out after protesting against how they were depicted.

Gibson has really done in his reputation this time. Maybe after one drunken night, it can be forgiven, but he just doesn't learn.
