America Ferrera engagement rumors

Despite rumors to the contrary, America Ferrera and her longtime boyfriend, filmmaker Ryan Piers Williams, are not engaged, the 'Ugly Betty' star's rep told celebrity magazines.

The speculation began after Ferrera was seen on set wearing what looked like an engagement ring. It turns out the ring probably reveals a plot twist on the ABC show.

The two began dating while students at University of Southern California, before Ferrera became a household name with 'Ugly Betty,' when he cast her in a student film. Although the engagement rumors are untrue, the couple is reportedly househunting.

Lindsay Lohan on 'Ugly Betty'

Lindsay Lohan's rumored foray to the small screen has finally been confirmed. The 21-year-old actress will guest star on the May 22 season finale of 'Ugly Betty' and will also appear on a five-episode arc next season.

Lohan, who appeared on the set Saturday, will play an old school friend of America Ferrera's Betty Suarez who is "down-on-her-luck."

She follows in the footsteps of other guest stars Posh Spice and Naomi Campbell, who also filmed scenes this week.

Us Magazine reported that the actress was so excited to get back to work that she showed up to the Los Angeles set 45 minutes early. Lohan was last seen in the 2007 critically-panned stripper-torture film 'I Know Who Killed Me.'

In other news, MTV is reporting that the sometimes-singer is attempting to revive her musical career by teaming up with Snoop Dogg, Pharrell and Timbaland on her new album. It may include a duet with Snoop, which will be the first time the former child star sings with the ex-gang member.

A source close to the production called the songs on the CD "amazing."

GLAAD Award Winners

"Ugly Betty" and "Brothers & Sisters" were repeat winners at Saturday's 19th annual Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Media Awards held at Kodak Theatre.

According to GLAAD, the awards "recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the issues that affect their lives."

The two ABC shows received awards for outstanding drama and comedy series, respectively - the same awards they won last year.

On "Ugly Betty," Michael Urie plays the flamboyantly gay assistant Marc St. James, and Rebecca Romijn portrays the transsexual magazine editor Alexis Meade. Matthew Rhys plays Kevin on "Brothers & Sisters," a member of the family who happens to be gay and whose dating life is a frequent subject on the show.

Singer and musician Rufus Wainwright was also honored for making a difference in promoting equal rights for the LGBT community.

"I'd like to thank GLAAD so much for allowing the world to see us as we are – as human beings – and to fight for us when we are being defamed and maligned," Wainwright said in his acceptance speech. "And also to allow gay people, who think that everything's fine, to actually realize that it's not, and that there is a lot of work to do."

The following is a complete list of award winners:

Vanguard Award: Janet Jackson (presented by Ellen DeGeneres)
Stephen F. Kolzak Award: Rufus Wainwright (presented by Sharon Stone)
Pioneer Award: Herb Ritts (presented by Tom Ford, and accepted by Cindy Crawford on behalf of the Herb Ritts Foundation)

'Ugly Betty' actor expecting second child

'Ugly Betty' star Eric Mabius and his wife Ivy Sherman are expecting their second child together.

Mabius, who plays editor Daniel Meade on the hit ABC comedy, told the Associated Press that his interior designer wife sprang the news on the show's set last week.

"We don't know if it's a girl or a boy yet," Mabius said.

The two had been trying to get pregnant before the Hollywood writers strike ended and thought when Ugly Betty returned to production, they'd have to wait until the summer to try again.

"I proved her wrong," 37-year-old Mabius said with a grin.

The two already have a one-year-old son. They met in a high school health education class and married in 2006.
