Dr. Murray Pleads Not Guilty to Michael Jackson's Death

Dr. Murray pled not guilty today to the charges of involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson. Jackson's death, as determined by the L.A. County Coroner's Office, was a result of Propofol intoxication. Dr. Murray prescribed the drug, along with others, to Jackson just before he died.

After the 25 minute hearing, Murray was taken into custody with a bail set at $75,000. According to TMZ, Murray cannot be in possession of or prescribe anesthetics, specifically Propofol. Murray had to hand over his passport at the end of the hearing - all of this in front of Jackson's parents and other family members.

The judge told Murray plain and simple, "I do not want you sedating people," but the medical board called him a "danger to the public". The board hoped that the judge would stop Murray from practicing medicine all togehter, but the judge didn't go that far. Dr. Murray is set to be in court again April 5th.

Father of Boy Who Accused Michael Jackson of Molestation Commits Suicide

Evan Chandler - the father of Jordan Chandler, who accused Michael Jackson of molestation in the 1990s- was found dead in his Jersey City apartment. He was 65 years old. Officials claim Chandler was found with a .38-caliber revolver in his hand, but there was no note.

In the 1990s, the Chandlers were awarded 20 million dollars from Michael Jackson, although Jackson was never officially charged with sexual abuse.

Jordan Chandler had since estranged himself from his father. He even went as far as getting a restraining order against his father. Evan Chandler allegedly hit his son with a dumbbell.

Family and friends have come forward stating that Chandler had become increasingly more depressed. He suffered from wild mood swings and depression.

Michael Jackson Wanted to Create Robotic Twin

The late King of Pop Michael Jackson underwent several three dimensional scans in 1996 so a virtual reality ‘robotic’ replica of himself could be made.

The scans could now be used to recreate the Thriller star in pop videos, computer games or even films.

The anonymous US businessman who owned the images has reportedly been trying to sell them for $1 million. “The data has been in our archives since he had the scans," the businessman told Britain's Daily Star newspaper. "The thing about this data is it immortalised him at the age of 37, before his nose was disfigured and when he was in the prime of his life.”

Apparently Michael’s funeral was nearly cancelled at the last minute due to costs.

Around $1 million was estimated to have been spent on the funeral, which took place on September 3.

Court papers have revealed that lawyers acting for the ‘Billie Jean’ star’s mother Katherine had filed a request to the administrators of his estate to pay for the funeral bills just three days before the funneral.

The lawyers stated that if the funeral home and local police department’s bills were not paid by the next day, the burial would not go ahead as planned. Administrators were able to pay the bills in time so that the funeral did not have to be delayed.

Katherine’s lawyers admitted the cost of the funeral was high, but added it was: “Entirely commensurate with the decedent’s worldwide status as an entertainer and the world’s grief over his death.”

Michael Jackson Amongst Top-Earning Deceased Celebrities

Michael Jackson makes his debut on the Top-Earning Deceased Celebrities list. Jackson, who passed away earlier this year due to acute Propofol intoxication, placed third. The "Thriller" singer made an enormous amount of money this year due to heavy radio play, royalties from album sales, and from the rights to his name and stock in the Sony music catalog. Ever since his unexpected passing, fans have been selling memorabilia, including a lock of Jackson's hair.

Forbes senior editor Matthew Miller said: "The money might be drying up in Hollywood, but there's still plenty of cash being made in the graveyard. The earning power of dead celebrities is more powerful than ever before."

Fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent tops the list this year, knocking "The King" Elvis Presley off his top spot. Saint Laurent passed away in 2008, but he made $350 million from his fashion label and from the sale of his art collection.

The songwriting team Rodgers and Hammerstein came in second this year. The two penned famous popular Broadway musicals, such as "Oklahoma", "South Pacific", and "The Sound of Music."

Here's the list in its entirety:
1. Yves Saint Laurent - $350 million
2. Rodgers and Hammerstein - $235 million
3. Michael Jackson - $90 million
4. Elvis Presley - $55 million
5. J.R.R. Tolkien - $50 million
6. Charles Schultz - $35 million
7. John Lennon - $15 million
8. Dr. Seuss - $15 million
9. Albert Einstein - $10 million
10. Michael Crichton - $9 million

Michael Jackson to be Laid to Rest Today

Two months after his untimely death, Michael Jackson will be buried today at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California. The ceremony will be a private affair for family and friends only. The funeral was supposed to be held on August 29, which would have been the King of Pop's 51st birthday, but was pushed back with no explanation.

There was much debate over where Jackson should be buried - brother Jermaine Jackson had wanted Michael to be buried at the singer's Neverland Valley Ranch estate. It was decided that Jackson will be buried in the Great Mausoleum on the grounds of Forest Lawn (George Burns, Clark Gable, Nat King Cole, John Wayne and Walt Disney are also all buried there). Jackson's mausoleum will have replicas of Michelangelo's "David" and "Moses" sculptures and a stained glass rendition of Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper." Gladys Knight will perform an undisclosed song at the funeral, but no media of any kind will be present. Police, however, will be there, including canine units and air support, to keep gawkers away.

Jackson Brothers Get a Reality Show Deal

I guess A&E couldn't help themselves. Where they see Jacksons, they see gold. It has officially been announced that a new reality series, called The Jackson Family Dynasty starring Michael Jackson's brothers such as, Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Tito has started filming.

Details about the show remain scarce. It has not been made known when the show will premiere, how many episodes it will have, or if any footage of Michael will be included. Looks like they all are wasting no time in taking advantage of the limelight from their brother Michael's death.

Murder! Jackson's Death Ruled Homicide.

Michael Jackson's death has been determined by Los Angeles police as a homicide by way of sworn affidavit to search Jackson's doctors offices in Houston Texas. You may recall last month that Jackson's doctor was the center of LA Police's investigation surrounding Jackon's death.

Dr. Conrad Murray is referenced in the search warrant and affidavit as admitting he administered Jackson with with the drug in question tying him directly to Jackson's death.

Charges against Jackon's doctor Conrad Murray are sure to follow, the question is when.

Frozen In Time: Even in Death MJ Decides the Show Must Go On

For weeks the mystery of Michael Jackson's body was media fodder. Frankly we at PCM thought that was boring news. Not any more!

Where is is MJ's body? Frozen in time! OK, not like Han Solo, or Ted Williams -- He's frozen more like David Blane.

You may read in the news soon that Michael Jackson's body is frozen, and that headline is clearly a teaser, the simple reality is that his mother has him at Forrest Hill's still in a deep freeze so that she may still visit him.

In other news... The coroner has returned his brain. Recently the LA coroner kept it to examine for clues hoping to find any other causes towards his death.

Michael Jackson's Final Rehearsals Will Be Released

Sony Pictures Entertainment has confirmed it will piece together parts of the hours of footage from the late Michael Jackson rehearsing for his sold-out ‘This Is It’ London tour.

The film will share its name with the never-performed shows and will feature 3D segments, behind-the-scenes footage and a host of the songs Jackson was perfecting on the days prior to his sudden death on June 25.

Jackson named music executive John McClain and his long-time attorney John Branca as an executor of his estate in his will. “This film is not only a tribute to an artist who created excitement every moment he was on stage, but also is a fitting gift to the millions of fans worldwide who loved him and who he devoted his professional life to entertaining,” McClain said.

High School Musical director Kenny Ortega was the creative director for the ‘This Is It.' He is glad that the world will get to see Jackson's vision for the tour.

“Everyone will see what our team was so fortunate to experience, which was the full commitment, passion and creativity that Michael put into this project," Ortega said. "He was the architect of ‘This Is It’, and we were his builders. The footage that was captured from the early stages of the production to our technical rehearsals at the Staples Center in Los Angeles will show Michael as he truly was, creatively involved with every aspect of the production. It will also show Michael as one of the greatest entertainers in the world. The footage will show that he was on his way to another theatrical triumph.”

Some of the proceeds from the film will go directly to Jackson’s estate for the benefit of the Michael Jackson Family Trust.

“Our goal is to work with partners who treat Michael’s legacy with dignity and respect, while allowing us to substantially build the value of his estate for the benefit of Mrs. Katherine Jackson, Michael’s three children and the charitable causes that meant so much to him during his life,” Branca said.

The Prince of Pop's mother Katherine has been given full custody of her son’s children - Prince Michael I, 12, and Paris, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as 'Blanket'.

The movie will hit theaters worldwide on October 28.

Madonna, Beyonce Knowles and Mariah Carey are planning a Michael Jackson tribute album

Some of the worlds biggest music stars are ready to honor the late Michael Jackson by recording versions of his songs for a charity album.

Robbie Williams, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder and Diana Ross have also been linked to the LP, as is the British schoolboy who was hand picked to sing at Micheal's memorial concert last month, Shaheen Jafargholi.

“The idea came from the memorial concert," a source said. "Many fans asked if cover versions from it would be released, and it seemed a wonderful idea. This covers album is sure to be a massive worldwide hit with fans and could raise a fortune for Michael’s favorite charities.”

The contributing stars will pick their favorite songs by the ‘King of Pop’ to cover. It is believed Mariah will record her version of ‘I’ll Be There’ from the memorial, while Shaheen will sing his version of ‘Who’s Loving You’. He has also reportedly been asked to record Michael’s early smash ‘Ben.'

Robbie is apparently going to sing ‘Man In The Mirror’, and other tracks expected to be on the album include ‘Rock With You’, ‘She’s Out Of My Life’ and ‘Bad.'

A Michael Jackson tribute concert is also being planned in London – where he had been due to play 50 shows starting this summer and running into 2010 – on the date of what would have been his 51st birthday, August 29.

Elizabeth Taylor Possibly Aided Michael Jackson's Drug Addiction

As the memorial service for Michael Jackson ends, new rumors come at an abundance. There is now talk that Dame Elizabeth Taylor, longtime friend of Jackson may be linked to Michael's alleged prescription drug dependency. The Daily Beast reports, Taylor influenced Jackson's prescription drug addiction by introducing him to Dr. Arnold Klein, the same doctor whom she revealed prescribed her several medications, including Dilaudid and Ativan, the first a powerful opiate that street users dub "the Bentley of heroin" and the latter a tranquilizer. According to a source Taylor sought help from at least two doctors to counter her growing drug dependence, many of which were prescribed by Klein.

According to The Daily Beast, Jackson began using some of the same pills as Taylor shortly after Dr. Klein started treating Jackson for for vitiligo. Klein was Jackson's cosmetic dermatologist and later introduced Jackson to his second wife, Debbie Rowe. Klein appeared on ABC's Good Morning America and stated that he had used sedation on the pop star in the past for appropriate medical procedures but had never prescriped him drugs. "I was not one of the doctors who participated in giving him overdoses of drugs or too much of anything. In fact, I was the one who limited everything, who stopped everything," Klein said.

Klein apparently saw Jackson 3 days before his death. It is known that Michael would make trips to Klein's office 2 - 3 times a week, visits lasting anywhere between 30 minutes - 5 hours. Los Angeles Police refused to comment on whether Dr. Klein is one of the five physicians being focused on in the Jackson investigation.

DEA Joins the Michael Jackson Investigation

The Drug Enforcement Administration has become involved in the investigation into Michael Jackson's death. According to the Associated Press, the Los Angeles Police asked the DEA to aid in investigating Jackson's doctors and possible drug use prior to his death last week.

As the investigation continues rumors have been unraveling about Jackson's use of antidepressants, pain medications, and prescriptive sedatives. Recently, Jackson's former nurse has made statements claiming that Jackson sought for Diprivan a.k.a Propofol, a powerful surgical anesthetic, to use as a sleeping aid. The L.A. Police are helping that with the DEA's help, they will be able to shed some light on drug abuse, illicit drug manufactures, and other unknown substances to the police, says the Associated Press.

What will happen to Michael Jackson's Kids?

As of now, nobody knows. Amidst rumors that Michael Jackson was not the biological father of his children, sources are now claiming that Debbie Rowe may not be their biological mother, either. Apparently, all three of Jackson's kids were conceived in vitro using both donor sperm and donor eggs - and Rowe was simply a paid surrogate. In the case of "Blanket," a separate surrogate was used and she was unaware that the baby she was carrying would go to Michael Jackson. His sperm may not have been used in that case, either. What's more, Jackson may have never legally adopted any of his three children.

It's the custody battle of a lifetime. Without any biological parent to lay claim to these kids (the "real" parents may never be known), the case is anything but cut-and-dry. California courts have certainly never seen anything like it, and they're not quite sure how to handle it just yet. It seems like a few DNA tests are in order!

Filipino Inmates Pay Tribute to Michael Jackson

Remember the popular YouTube video from 2007 of the Filipino prison inmates dancing to Michael Jackson's "Thriller"? Well, the inmates performed their dance again to pay tribute to Jackson on Saturday at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center . The inmates are huge fans of Michael Jackson and after hearing of his death they began practicing their dance in the exercise yard for nine hours straight, taking breaks only to eat or when it rained.

"I felt sad because we lost our idol," said inmate Wenjiel Resane.

A crowd of 700 came to watch the inmates perform. The show started off with a prayer for the Jackson family. Aside from "Thriller," they also performed "Ben," "I'll Be There" and "We Are the World." After they finished dancing they held up a 5-by-10 foot tarpaulin showing Michael Jackson holding a sword with his name written below it.

The "Thriller" YouTube video has had 24.3 million hits since it was first posted and nearly one million of them took place in the 24 since news of Jackson's death was made known. The inmates "consider Michael Jackson as a god here," Byron Garcia, the Cebu provincial security consultant said. "If not for Michael Jackson, they would not have this international recognition."

Are Drugs Involved in Michael Jackson's Death?

Some family and friends close to Michael Jackson have been hinting that drugs may be responsible for his death. Michael received a shot of Demerol before noon on Thursday and even though Jackson family members say he got a shot of Demerol each day, the dosage he was given yesterday may have been too much. Demerol is similar to morphine, and some sources at the hospital where Jackson died are saying that the king of pop stopped breathing shortly after he was given the Demerol shot.

"His staff started mouth-to-mouth and an ambulance was called which got there in eight minutes," a source at UCLA hospital said. "But paramedics found he was in full respiratory arrest, no breathing and no pulse. They started full CPR and rushed him to hospital."

Despite how shocking it was to hear of Jackson's death, a spokesman for the Jackson family, Brian Oxman, said it was not unexpected.

Others say that Micheal Jackson's death could be a result of stress about his upcoming 50+ concert tour. The exact cause of his death will not be known until after the autopsy, but right now it is just said to be a result of cardiac arrest.
