Jake Gyllenhaal and Matthew McConaughey have been voted two of the world's hottest bachelors for a second consecutive year.

Despite 'Brokeback Mountain' star Jake being romantically linked to Reese Witherspoon, America's People magazine still regard him as single and have placed him on their annual list.

The handsome actor appeared in the poll last year following his split from long-term girlfriend Kirsten Dunst.

'Sahara' actor Matthew also made the list last year after breaking up with Spanish beauty Penelope Cruz and his good looks and charm have secured him a spot again.

Matthew McConaughey's Sexy Confidence

Matthew McConaughey believes confidence plays a big part in his sex symbol status. Matthew is convinced personality and charm are just as important as looks, because beauty is only skin-deep.

He told Entertainment Weekly: "I like sexy people, and I think being yourself is sexy. Being myself and being as good a man as I can be is sexy.

"My face is considered handsome. My body is considered well put together. For me not to appreciate that would be way out of line, but it doesn't mean that I'm not anything else."

McConaughey - who has dated Ashley Judd, Sandra Bullock and Penelope Cruz - was voted the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine in 2005.
