Chace Crawford Won't Date a Co-Star

Unlike his co-stars Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, "Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford wants to keep his personal and professional life separate.

“‘Gossip Girl’ creator Josh Schwartz told me to avoid at all costs dating a co-star," Chace said. "We get to shoot in New York and have that as our playground and do the insane things that we get to be a part of. There’s a part of me that wants to share that."

“But I’m having fun living the bachelor life right now. It’s a good time to be single.”

Chace also denies the rumors that he moved out of the apartment he shared with co-star Ed Westwick because the two are no longer friends.

“Frat time’s over," he told Wonderland magazine. "I’m just turned 24, I need my own space. I don’t know why anyone wants to read about the condition of our apartment. It cracks me up. It was actually pretty immaculate."

“I’m OCD [Obsessive Compulsive Disorder]. I had a maid come twice a month. We have a few roof deck parties from time to time, but that’s all.”

Hilary Duff is The Newest Gossip Girl

Actress and singer Hillary Duff will be joining the cast of Gossip Girl. She will play Olivia Burke, a famous movie star who attends New York University in order to have a normal college experience. Blair(Leighton Meester), Dan(Penn Badgley) and Vanessa(Jessica Szohr) have all been accepted to NYU and Olivia will be Vanessa's roommate.

As a member of the Gossip Girl cast, Duff will surely have her fair share of drama. Will she befriend her new roommate Vanessa? Will she get along with Blair? And who will be her romantic interest, Dan perhaps?

Hillary Duff will be on multiple episodes beginning with the fourth episode of the new season on October 5.

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester's Debut Album To Be Released On Universal Republic Records

Universal Republic Records has signed celebrated actress/singer-songwriter Leighton Meester, star of the CW’s hugely popular drama ‘Gossip Girl,’ through an agreement with Time-Act Music to release her debut album this fall. Possessing a self-described “passion for music for as long as I can remember,” the multi-talented 23 year old star has been recording the new album in Los Angeles with some of today’s hottest producers including Harvey Mason Jr. (Justin Timberlake, Pink), Polow Da Don (Usher, Fergie, Kelis) and Spencer Nezey (Jupiter Rising).

“Leighton Meester’s tremendous presence and spirited approach to her musical artistry is a perfect fit with her new Universal Republic home as we introduce current and new fans to this unique facet of her immense talent,” stated Monte Lipman, President and CEO of Universal Republic Records.

The versatile artist has built up a solid resume of singing/acting performances the past few years, including a singing role in the 2007 movie Drive Thru and a memorable duet with the legendary Tony Bennett on the hit HBO series ‘Entourage.’ Citing diverse musical influences such as M.I.A. and Gwen Stefani, she has hinted many of the new songs on her debut effort favor an electro-pop edge. Most recently, a ‘leaked’ cover version of the Awesome New Republic song “Birthday,” featuring Meester on lead vocals, has been embraced by online fans around the world.

Meester, who has built a global following thanks to her acclaimed portrayal of the character Blair Waldorf in ‘Gossip Girl,’ has also appeared in TV shows such as Surface, CSI:Miami, 8 Simple Rules, 24, House, and others. She has recently been signed to star in the upcoming Sony Screen Gems thriller ‘The Roommate,’ directed by Christian E. Christiansen.

Good News For CW

Wowza! The CW Network is doing pretty well! Six series have been slated to return in the fall on the network. Fans of "Gossip Girl," "One Tree Hill, "90210," the Thursday combo of "Smallville" and "Supernatural" and the reality hit "America's Next Top Model," can breathe easy. All these shows have been renewed and are coming back for all new seasons.

Awaiting a decision regarding its fate is freshman drama "Privileged," which has developed a strong fan base but has been a modest ratings performer.

All new episodes of 'One Tree Hill' and 'Gossip Girl' will return on March 16th.

Gossip Girl Couple Alert!

Ah-ha! We knew it, remember when we told you that it looked like Gossip Girl stars Ed Westwick & Jessica Szohr were getting cozy in an airport? Well, they attended a basketball game at Madison Square Garden on Monday (February 2) in New York City and shared a smooch! Looks like they are completely, definitely, totally a real-life couple. Did you catch last night's episode of the CW's 'Gossip Girl?' Well, it looks like 'Chuck' and 'Vanessa' may be getting close in real life! Hmm, interesting! We already know that Blake Lively and Penn Badgley are a couple off the set of the show.

Spies at the Dallas airport caught a trio of Gossip Girl cast members - Ed Westwick, Chace Crawford, and Jessica Szohr - waiting for their flights this holiday weekend. Ed and Jessica were caught being a bit flirty and smooching while they waited for their flight!

Oh yeah, this picture is taken from a scene from the show. He isn't offering her money in real life or anything, haha, just to clear that up!

Critics Say Gossip Girl Ads “Reek of Desperation”

Gossip Girl has gotten a bad rap with parents. But that’s fine with them.

The popular CW teen drama has taken the criticism and turned it into its latest campaign for the new fall season.

“What we’re trying to do is communicate with the audience in a way that they like and can appreciate,” CW’s Rick Haskins said of the show’s racy new ads.

“This sort of campaign resonates with someone who likes Gossip Girl—specifically, women ages 18 to 34.”

The ads feature the Gossip Girl stars in compromising positions. Critics of the explicit photo campaign include the Parents Television Council, who dubbed the show “Mind-Blowingly Inappropriate.”

One ad shows star Blake Lively getting kissed on the neck with her mouth wide open. The headline reads: “Every Parent’s Worse Nightmare”—a quote from a negative Boston Herald review.

“I think it reeks of desperation, if they have to position themselves as so edgy and so controversial that they’ve been called out by us,” said Melissa Henson, PTC director of communications.

The second season of the popular prep school soap begins Sept. 1.

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, 20, is pictured on the cover of Seventeen magazine's new issue. She doesn't even look like herself! C'mon! She revealed her thoughts about being compared to a certain Hollywood starlet, making this our quote of the day:

“I once heard someone say that I’m similar to Paris Hilton - just because I have a dog and blonde hair. What a dumb thing to say,” Lively said. “I dont think that makes Paris and me similar … I don’t go to clubs, I don’t party, I don’t dance on tables, and I don’t like sex tapes.”

Taylor Momsen, who known best for her role as Jenny on Gossip Girl, has signed on to be repped by agency IMG models. She has yet to be a spokesperson for any brands or products, but surely deals are in the works.

IMG has a many other celebrity clients, such as Hilary Duff, Drew Barrymore, Mischa Barton, Liv Tyler, and Selma Blair

Teen Choice Award nominees

The Teen Choice Awards air Monday, August 4 at 8/7C on Fox with Miley Cyrus in the hosting seat. The Disney's 'Hannah Montana' star is up for four awards: Choice TV Actress: Comedy, Choice TV Comedy, Choice Music: Single and Choice Music: Female Artist.

The CW's 'Gossip Girl' leads all nominees with 14 nods, including TV show drama and TV breakout show. Chris Brown received nine nominations and Justin Timberlake received three.

Other multiple nominees are Hayden Panettiere, Jonas Brothers, Kanye West, Lil Mama and Rihanna. The show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles also received several nods.

Musical guests, attendees and presenters have yet to be announced.

It was reveled on E! that the character of Eric Verderwoodsen will be soon be outed in a shocking way during an upcoming episode of the hit CW drama, Gossip Girl. Check out the clip below for details.

Gossip Girl will no longer be streamed online

The CW announced that when Gossip Girl returns on Monday, the new episodes will no longer be streamed on their website (CWTV.com).

The first twelve episodes of the season will remain on the site and were originally made available for free a week after their airdate. The show received hundreds of thousands of viewers online which the Network believes poses a threat to the primetime airing of the show, since teens are being conditioned to watch the show online rather then when it is on television.

A CW spokesman said that “While the buzz on the show has remained strong, we decided to have it be that you can only get it on our airwaves. We’ll see if that at all impacts the numbers.”

The show has switched from Wednesday at 9:00PM to Mondays at 8:00PM and because of the WGA strike, tonight will be the first new episode of the show in three months. The new episodes will continue to be available on iTunes where Gossip Girl downloads are ranked among the highest.

Apparently, Michelle Trachtenberg has signed a deal to appear in the CW show

The starlet is slated to play Georgina Sparks. According to the plot, Sparks will go to Manhattan, after her time in rehab, and will shake up the lives of the shows resident bad girl Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively)

Mischa Barton was supposedly being considered for the role, but she allegedly didn't get along so well with the producers and just used them for publicity.

We much prefer Trachtenberg. Mischa's real life plays out like it's own Gossip Girl, so who needs her on the show?

It looks like Trachtenberg is pretty lucky this year. She will be appearing in Kids in America, as well as Seventeen Again, where she stars with Zac Efron. Aweosme!!

Beverly Hills 90210 is Making a Comeback

The CW is planning a spin-off of the class 90’s teen soap Beverly Hills 90210, and it is rumored that the Rob Thomas, the creator of Veronica Mars, will be scripting the pilot.

90210 “The New Class” will be paired with The CWs current teen hit Gossip Girl which reveals the lives of the teenage Manhattan elite.

As a die-hard fan of 90210 while growing up—and also a fan of Veronica Mars—I for one am super psyched for the new series!
