Pitt, Jolie Used In Vitro for Twins

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wanted kids, and they wanted them fast.

The couple already holds the land speed record for celebrity family expansion. And now we know their secret.

A well placed Pitt-Jolie source confirms suspicions that the couple used in vitro fertilization to conceive their newborn twins Knox and Vivienne.

"They both desperately wanted more babies soon," the source said.

Jolie used the procedure, which costs about $12,000 a pop, so "she wouldn't have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant," the source said. "She could just knock it out."

Jolie has openly stated that she wants more kids while her and Pitt are still young enough to cope with raising them.

"If we're going to have 10 kids, we'd like to raise them while we're young," the actress told British Elle last year.

Brangelina Babies Go Home

Angelina Jolie and her twins were released from the hospital early Saturday morning. Jolie & Pitt slipped out of the hospital unseen by the crowd of reporters and the papz camped outside since she gave birth last weekend. The family left the hospital reportedly around 4 A.M in the morning.

"Mrs. Angelina Jolie left the clinic Santa Maria of Foundation Lenval early in the morning. The mother and her babies are doing very well," the Lenval hospital in the southern French city of Nice said in a statement.

Brangelina has rented a 17th century villa in Provence and took the babies there. They've sold picture rights for the babies to a US publication for $11 million, so we should be seeing the little guys soon!

BREAKING NEWS: THE TWINS ARE HERE!

The much anticipated day has arrived! The wait is over! The Jolie-Pitt's welcomed two new members to their already pretty big family! The supercouple welcomed a son and a daughter Saturday evening at her seaside hospital in Nice. Dr. Michel Sussmann told the Associated Press the babies, mother and father "are doing marvelously well."

Twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline (phew, at least their names are semi-normal) were delivered via Cesarian section sometime before 10 p.m. Knox arrived first and weighed 5.03 pounds, per Sussmann; Vivienne followed at 5 pounds. No official word or statement has been released by Brad or Angelina yet!

Rumors were swirling around that Jolie had grew increasingly uncomfortable behind windows coated with paparazzi-blocking insulation and anxious to have the babies and go home. Reports also surfaced earlier yesterday that the Jolie-Pitt's actually had two twin girls yesterday. But we've got your official news!

The couple has reportedly already sold the exclusive rights to the first baby picture for $11 million, which they will donate to a charity.

Brad Pitt's Latest Hospital Visit

Brad Pitt was spotted visiting Angelina Jolie at Lenval Hospital in Nice, France on Tuesday. No news yet that Angelina has popped. C'mon, we're waiting anxiously! Looks like he had a driver with him and 4-year-old son, Pax Thien, sleeping in the backseat. I'd be tired with the little guy's lifestyle, too!

Brangelina twins named honorary citizens of Nice

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's twins have yet to be born, but already they've been named honorary citizens of Nice, France.

"All their lives they will be Niçois and all their life they will be able to come to Nice and we will receive them with great honor," Nice mayor Christian Estrosi said on Friday.

"We are very happy for this choice of Mrs. Angelina Jolie and Mr. Brad Pitt and I want to say to them that I wish a lot of joy to them and the babies, and great success for all of their lives," Estrosi added.

In France, being born in the country is generally not enough to confer citizenship. However, if France is the primary residence for the twins for at least five years after they turn 11, then they can obtain French citizenship once they reach age 18, according to the French Foreign Ministry website.

Jolie has been known for her nomadic lifestyle, but she and Pitt did purchase a $60 million French estate in May, so it is possible the couple plans to set roots there following the birth of the twins.

Jolie has been in Nice's Lenval hospital since Monday, and her doctor said in a Wednesday press conference that the babies would not be born for another two or three weeks.

Angelina Didn't Have Twins - Yet

Angelina Jolie's obstetrician, Dr. Michael Sussman, held a press conference outside of Nice's Lenval hospital at 5:30 p.m. local time to discuss the care of, and address the rumors about, his celebrity patient.

"Angelina's pregnancy has gone very well so far and she has absolutely no problems at all," he said. "But she still has at least two or three weeks to go until she gives birth and she'll most certainly be staying in the hospital until after she gives birth."

Reports announced yesterday that Jolie was in the hospital, and a French magazine even claimed she had already given birth to the twins.

"Lenval is one of the best maternity hospitals in the world so if there were any problems she'll get the best care possible," Sussman said. "But for now, both Angelina and the babies are doing extremely well. Everyone's very happy."

Brad Pitt was spotted entering the hospital's maternity ward with Angelina and his daughters, Zahara and Shiloh, although normally minors under 15 are not permitted in the hospital during visiting hours.

Jolie reportedly checked into the hospital earlier in the week so that she could rest up prior to the twins' birth. Hotel spokeswoman Nadine Bauer told E! News it was "standard procedure" and "something she had planned with her doctor...for some time."

Bauer also said that Sussman would hold a press conference following the twins' arrival.

Jack Black explains his Brangie twin confirmation

Jack Black spoke to Ann Curry of The Today Show Wednesday about his upcoming film with Angelina Jolie, Kung Fu Panda.

The comedian and new dad also explained who was behind his confirmation that Jolie and Brad Pitt are expecting twins.

"It's my wife's fault," Black said. "Tanya told me like it was common knowledge, because she's a triplet and she's interested in that. So I filed it away for something to talk about later if I met Angelina."

Black made the public revelation May 15 when Black and Jolie spoke to Today's Natalie Morales during the Cannes Film Festival. Black said he was unaware that the news was not public knowledge when he "spilled the beans."

"Whoops," Black told Curry.

He said: "There we were on [The Today Show], and I said, ‘Ah! So, it's going to be like 'The Brady Bunch' with your twins that are coming.' And then she's like, 'Uh... oh... I wasn't going to say that.' And then I was like the bean spiller."

Black also told Curry that Jolie was actually relieved he confirmed the off-rumored double baby bundle.

"She wanted to spill the beans and didn’t know how to, and I did it for her."

Latest Jolie-Pitt baby news

Last week Entertainment Tonight reported that Angelina Jolie had given birth to her twins in France, but other media outlets later released reports with statements from the actress' rep denying the claim.

But Entertainment Tonight continues to stand by their story, and the producer said Monday she wanted to "see how this story plays out" before retracting the report.

For now, the story of the twins' birth has been pulled from Entertainment Tonight's website, but Angelina Jolie is the current most searched actress.

On Monday Angelina Jolie's legal team reached out to various media outlets, informing them that an imposter had been sending out false information under the guise of Jolie's longtime assistant, Holly Goline.

The imposter has allegedly been using a bogus BlackBerry email address to send out false press releases to the media for the past year.

"A random individual has engaged in a scheme to intentionally harm my client and deceive her fans, the public and the media through illegal and tortuous impersonation of Ms. Jolie's long-time assistant, Holly," said a letter from Jolie's attorneys at law firm Lavely & Singer.

"The individual who claims to be, and to whom the media has relied upon as, a 'reliable source' is not my client's assistant, nor does the email address belong to my client's assistant."

Meanwhile, there's a record-breaking bidding war for the first photographs of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's twins, who are reportedly not due until August.

According to TMZ.com, People and OK! Magazine are the only two contenders still standing after exclusive rights to the newborns reached $15 million. The Jolie-Pitts will also likely give the profits to charity, as they did for the first photos of daughter Shiloh.

The bid would surpass the $6 million People offered Jennifer Lopez for photos of her twins, who were born in February. Lopez reportedly was paid less than half as much of the offer.

Dustin Hoffman has said he will give the twins a lifetime supply of toys they are born on his birthday, August 8. The actor and co-star of Jolie's next film, Wanted, let the due date slip at the Cannes Film Festival.

"She's meant to be due on August 19th, and it's my birthday on August 8th," Contactmusic quoted Hoffman. "If she could will that birth to be on my birthday, there's no end the gifts I would give. It's the least she could do."

Brangelina did not have twins yet

Representatives for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie denied reports that the couple's twins have been born.

"Angelina has not given birth. She is fine, enjoying her home and her family in France," a rep for Jolie told People.

Brad Pitt's L.A.-based talent manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante, issued a statement to Reuters denying the reports, as well. "It's not true. It's a rumor," she said.

Entertainment Tonight was the first to announce the story that Angelina had given birth. Their web site posted the following at 8:16 a.m. PDT Friday: "Just this morning a source who says she was inside the delivery room tells ET yes, the babies were born and yes, mother and babies are fine!"

According to MSNBC News Service, "Entertainment Tonight" continues to stand by their report, as of 5:34 p.m. ET Friday.

A British publication, NOW Magazine, also reported that the twins had arrived and were named Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane.

Numerous other sites have stepped up to deny the reports, including People, E! and US Weekly.

Although France has strict privacy laws regarding health matters, officials at the Etoile Maternite Catholique de Provence in Aix-en-Provence, one of southern France's top maternity clinics, said that Jolie had not been there. Town hall officials said that although they were aware of the media reports, they did not know if they were true.

Locals, including the mayor and an inn owner, confirmed that the couple recently moved to southern France, where they just bought a $60 million estate.

Twins for Brangelina

Angelina Jolie has confirmed that she and partner Brad Pitt are expecting twins.

According to Acccess Hollywood, the news slipped during an interview on The Today Show with Natalie Morales while at the Cannes Film Festival. Jolie and co-star Jack Black were on hand to promote their animated movie Kung Fu Panda.

"You're gonna have as many as [the] Brady Bunch when you have these," Black said, prompting Morales to ask if Jolie was having twins, as had been speculated for awhile.

"Yeah, yeah, we've confirmed that already," Jolie said. "Well, Jack's just confirmed it actually."

Jolie and Pitt already have two sons and two daughters. Jolie refused to reveal the genders of the twins, though. "We would like to keep that private," she said.

Brangelina's High-Risk Pregnancy

According to the National Enquirer, Angelina’s pregnancy is rumored to be an attempt to save her and Brad’s marriage. Over the last year Angie has been scared that Brad would leave her if she did not give him another biological child.

Although Brad is equally devoted to his adopted children as he is to Shiloh, he still wanted to have another biological baby. The couple would argue on whether they should adopt or try for another, and the actress became worried that she was unable to get pregnant. They resorted to in vitro fertilization, and now Brangelina is pregnant with twins. A National Enquirer insider claims that “She really believes that the new babies will finally put to rest the problems in their relationship.”

Life & Style also reports that Angelina is facing a high-risk pregnancy with either twins or triplets, and that she is taking several safeguards to protect the health of the babies. Angelina has had several cramping scares, but she and Brad have been reassured by doctors that the ultrasound looks fine. As an additional precautionary measure, the couple has hired a full-time nurse.

Brad and Angelina Pregnant with Twins?

Star Magazine is reporting that Angelina and Brad are at it again.. being parents that is. Apparently a source close to Angelina has confirmed that she has cancelled a long scheduled trip to Europe due to her pregnancy. Star also reports that it has only been in the last week that Angie discovered that she was eating for three. Though everyone was wondering why no alcohol was consumed by Angie the night of the Critics Choice Awards, is she farther along then we realize? Anyway we wish the happy couple Congratulations!
