Howard K. Stern Charged

Anna Nicole Smith's former lawyer and boyfriend Howard K. Stern has been charged in relation to her death.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's office has confirmed Howard and two other doctors were, on Thursday (12.03.09), charged with conspiring to supply Anna - who died of combined drug intoxication in February 2007 aged just 39 - with drugs.

It has been alleged Howard, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor and Dr. Khristine Eroshevich gave drugs to Anna between June 5 2004 and January 26 2007.

They have all been charged with unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance during the time stated.

Sandeep and Khristine have also been charged with one count of gaining an opiate prescription by "fraud, deceit or misrepresentation" and with one count of getting an opiate prescription using a false name or address.

Both Sandeep and Howard - who was Anna's lover at the time of her death and once claimed to be the father of her daughter Dannielynn - have been charged with one count of "prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict". Khristine was also charged with this offence in a separate count.

Each was given bail at $20,000 and arraignment dates have not yet been set.

Howard has previously denied any illegal activity in relation to Anna and drugs.

Anna died after she was found unresponsive in a room at Hollywood's Hard Rock casino.

Her death came just months after her son Daniel died from accidentally taking a lethal combination of drugs.

He passed away in September 2006 in his mother's Bahamas hospital room while he was visiting his new sister Dannielynn.

The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith to be made into and opera

The life and death of Anna Nicole Smith will be made into an opera by British composer Mark-Anthony Turnage.

The production will be staged at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden in 2011.

‘It is not going to be a horrible, sleazy evening,’ director of opera Elaine Padmore, tells The Guardian. ‘It is going to be witty, clever, thoughtful and sad.

‘It is not just a documentary about her, but a parable about celebrity and what it does to people.’

Richard Thomas, who is co-creator of Jerry Springer: The Opera, will pen the songs.

Anna Nicole died of an accidental drug overdose in February 2007 at the age of 39.

Anna Nicole Smith lives on through lingerie

Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, Dannielynn, may not have a mom anymore, but she does have her panties.

Ex Larry Birkhead kept it in the family when he spent nearly $3000 at a celebrity auction Saturday buying lingerie once worn in the late Playmate’s Playboy photo shoot.

Birkhead said he wants his 1-year-old daughter, Dannielynn, to have something to remember her mother by.

“I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn’t really know about,” Birkhead said. “Playboy was such a big part of Anna’s career.”

Birkhead bought a pink bustier for $1,800 and a white negligee for $1,000 at the auction held at Planet Hollywood Resort on the Las Vegas strip.

He was awarded custody of Danielynn after Smith died from an overdose of prescription drugs in February 2007. She was 39.

Birkhead said he hoped the items would help his daughter learn her mother’s life story—when she’s old enough.

“You know, it’s not something I can show today, but something down the road,” Birkhead said. “It’s not going to be in any bedtime stories anytime soon.”

Anna Nicole Smith's former boyfriend spent nearly $3,000 at a celebrity auction Saturday scooping up lingerie once worn in a Playboy shoot by the late playmate.

Birkhead said he is trying to make sure his 1-year-old daughter, Dannielynn, has something to remember her mother by.

"I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn't really know about," Birkhead told The Associated Press. "Playboy was such a big part of Anna's career."

Birkhead bought a pink bustier for $1,800 and a white negligee for $1,000 at the auction, run by Julien's Auctions and held at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Anna Nicole's Stepbrother: 'I Didn't Rape My Sister'

Anna Nicole Smith's step-brother, Larry Dale Hart, has lashed out at reports he's the man who sexually abused his sister - from inside prison.

Hart, who is serving time in a Texas prison for aggravated and sexual assault, insists he never even knew the tragic model had been raped in her youth.

The convict was tracked down to his Texas jail by U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight as part of a follow-up to an interview with Smith before she died in February (07), in which she angrily revealed, "You wanna hear my child life? The rape?"

But when TV correspondent Art Harris asked Hart if he was the man behind the rape claim, considering his own sexual assault rap, the jailed felon said, "I've never even heard that before. I don't think she's said that. I don't think so. That's a shock to me. I've never heard that before."

Anna Nicole Tried To Commit Suicide Recently

- Prescription drugs found in her room included Valium and were all in Howard K. Stern's name

- Anna Nicole tried to commit suicide by drowning herself in her pool. She was found floating facedown by HKS and called for her bodyguard, who is also a paramedic. CPR was administered and she was saved.


- Private nurse called HKS before she called 911. Took him a long time to call back.

- Judge refuses to order emergency DNA test on ANS. Full hearing is set for February 20, for all the motions filed by team Larry. Temporary order is in place for remains of ANS to be preserved pending the Feb. 20th hearing. This means she cannot be buried or cremated until this is settled.

- Team Larry is worried that there will be a "bait & switch" and they want DNA from ANS to prove that the baby that gets tested is indeed Dannielyn.

R.I.P Anna Nicole Smith

Anna Nicole Smith has died, this according to her attorney Ron Rale. She was 39.

Desperate attempts to save her life were made by paramedics en route to Memorial Regional Hospital. Smith did not survive, despite receiving CPR and emergency intubation to facilitate her breathing.

Smith collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida and died hours later.

Anna had been transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2:00 PM EST and died around 3:45 PM EST.

WFOR-TV in Miami reports that Anna was found unresponsive in her hotel room. Local streets were closed off to rush Smith to the hospital, three miles away. Paramedics were seen pumping her chest as she was taken from the hotel.

Anna had been hospitalized for a week last November with pneumonia. Daughter Dannielynn, subject of an ongoing DNA test battle, was born on September 7. Her son Daniel died of a drug overdose on September 10. People magazine is reporting that Dannielynn is in the Bahamas.

Anna frequented the Hard Rock. Just a month ago, a playful Anna was caught showing off new body art to Hulk Hogan during a boxing match.
