What started as a minor car accident turned into a scandal of massive proportions for pro golfer Tiger Woods. A jaw-dropping thirteen (!) women have come forward claiming to have had affairs with Woods - including a few porn stars - prompting his wife, Elin Nordegren, to make plans to move out. Many leaked voicemails, text messages, and e-mails have proved his infidelity, and the rumor mill is now running with the possibility of sex tapes, nude pictures, and illegitimate children. Plus, some sources claim that Woods' mistresses received large amounts of money from the golfer, including money to pay for plastic surgery! It is also being claimed that Woods was intoxicated at the time of his car accident, and was admitted to the hospital under a fake name to be treated for an overdose of prescription drugs Ambien and Vicodin.
The scandal has had massive repercussions for the golfer's career, causing marketers to pull all of their Tiger Woods ads from primetime television broadcast networks and 19 cable channels. Additionally, Gatorade is now dropping a new drink it had been working on, which was named for Woods. He was also supposed to be awarded the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest Congressional award to a civilian, but now, California Representative Joe Baca states: "In light of the recent developments surrounding Tiger Woods and his family, I will not pursue legislation awarding him the Congressional Gold Medal this session."
